BN just spent two recruiting cycles bringing players for his style of offense and yo want him to hire a guy who runs the air raid and was fired because he didn't know how to adjust his offense to the NFL. Kliff Kingsbury fired as Arizona Cardinals head coach
Yep, just a horrible idea. Not the way to move the program FORWARD and not the message you want to send to possible OC candidates.
Our offense wasn't so bad last year when we could run and AR wasn't melting down. The Offense wasn't the reason our season went sideways. I do find it interesting that UF seems like there is a written rule that you must hire a coach that has an offense that is diametrically opposed to the previous staff...especially when that staff was successful. Zook replaced Spurrier's downfield passing game with a run-heavy sideways passing game. Urbs came in with a spread offense, Muschamp brought back the 1960's 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense, McElwain tried to implement Alabama's run first passing offense but never found a QB after Grier left, back to the spread under Mullen, then that has been tossed out for a run-heavy downfield passing attack that appears to ignore almost all of the quick throws except for the WR screen monstrosity that didn't even work for Zook. Its always been a head scratcher for me.
You know how we laugh at Tennessee fans for their decade long insistence that John Gruden would return to coaching for the Tennessee job.... This is the Gator delusion they laugh at us for constantly bringing up.
Absolutely agree that our offense was really good in 2022, it just needed to execute better! For those who feel like we need an OC, this guy's available. Personally, I'd like to see us stay the present course that Napier has us on. For those wanting microwave results, it ain't happening!!! Sorry, but GN, as a whole, won't have much to cheer about until 2024. Now, I do hope the Gators would surprise the heck out of us, and that would be A NICE SURPRISE!!!
Don't forget he was also fired at Texas Tech, not sure what people keep seeing in him, guess some think he's handsome
SOS may think it's fun..he doesn't have to watch tons of film...but I bet he sits in some times..being retired myself..some times you want a little something extra to do..
i would get every amount of savings I could muster and still with 20-1 odds in your favor take that bet.
You’re always hob nobbin’ with the UF elite. Maybe you should throw your weight around up there and make it happen, lol. .
All kidding and looking in the rear view aside- Spurriers kid just got the OC job under Kevin Wilson at Tulsa. Which means he has coached under SOS, Leach and now Wilson (who is a brilliant mind)- And if things go well there… and go poorly here… seems like timing would be PERFECT
Not a fan of giving people jobs based on their name, I think it's interesting of the first moves the new MSU coach does is get rid of him.
A friend that is a big MSU fan and knows a lot of people in the higher MSU boosters said they were upset because their new coach got rid of SOS jr
