Bowers and Washington are mismatch nightmares at TE. I would also have to guess that Hooker isnt going to have Hyatt running down the field with nobody within 20 yards out of that stack WR set against UGA. If this game was in Cavity City - I would be more inclined to call the upset. The atmosphere that they have developed there with the music, light shows, fireworks, etc is pretty special. But they are rolling into Athens Saturday and that place will be LOUD. As previous posters have said - if UT's offense doesnt move the ball it could get really ugly in the 2nd half. Their defense just isnt deep enough at this point to be on the field a ton. I think it will be a great game and I will definitely be tuning in. I just feel like UGA pulls away late in an otherwise competitive and entertaining game.
Kirby doesn’t serve as OC. Maybe more input at DC, where I’m betting he’s much better than Heupel. UGA has a more complete team with better talent on average. A MUCH better D. That’s what a CEO does in CFB these days.
uga secondary hasn't really been tested this season, I see some opportunities for tenn down the field. Vols lack of a run game beyond hooker may be an issue. And they need to start fast.... or suffer the same fate as arky last year. Plus I want uga to lose... I don't think tenn beats Saban twice in one season
Um, UT D is almost as bad as…well, the worst. They play some run D but not shut-down. UGA doesn’t have a stable of NFL ready guys at WR but they will be running open all over. UGA def hitting 40. The question will be if UGA will commit to cover 1/0. It looks bad when a guy gets torched one on one and all us couch coaches start Twittercizing the “play-calling” but sitting in these zones is what UT is counting on. So you had two guys on the screen when Hyatt split them on his 25th 9 route of the night, bleh. Let’s see Hooker win throwing routes closer to the bottom of the tree. I frankly doubt him. If so, hats off.
I reviewed this a year or two ago and the data shows that SEC rematches more often result in the same team winning twice. As for this thread, I think the Vols are in for a rude awakening. They ain't arrived yet. Throw in the #1 playoff ranking and their egos just might be inflated, while GA has something to be pissed about.
FTR, I hate UGA even more than I detest the Vols. But facts are facts and UGA is the better team overall and they are playing at home. The dwags dominate both lines of scrimmage and win by about ten points. I agree, but what I want, and what I expect are two entirely different things.
Last 4 loses for Uga 2021 Alabama 421 pass yards 41-24 2020 Florida 474 pass yards 44-28 2020 Alabama 417 pass yards 41-24 2019 Lsu 349 pass yards 37-10 No one has rushed for over 200 yards against Uga since 2018 You beat Uga with a passing attack Tennessee has one
Weird thing about this game. If the winner loses in Atlanta they will not make the playoffs. Where as the loser of this game probably will.
I'd love to be wrong, but UGA wins this one. Vols can score like no one else, but their defense is not close to being good.
I don't want to see the mutts win, but if we are all honest with ourselves, they have a complete team. I would love to see the mutts go down, however when i see it i'll beleive it. I just don't see any weakness in them. Should be a good game.
Yep, it should be an entertaining game to watch. I would like to see the vols pull it off, and of course if it were in Knoxville that would improve their chances. Tough ask for them to go into Athens and get the W.
I’ll simplify things here a bit. If UT forces 4 punts they will win the game. If they only force three, they probably win. Georgia’s offense is not built for a track meet
