Tennessee's defense should be able to stop Stetson Bennett III enough, and UT's wide receiver's should have a field day, for the W. I use "should," since the Athens crowd will make this a dawgfight! I welcome your thoughts!
I wrote in the SEC Shorts thread that I haven't seen the UcheaT QB take the shots (and punches) Georgia gets away with. UcheaT defense could make Bennet look a lot better and the UcheaT WRs will get pressed and covered-up. Now whether the SEC wants the refs calling PI tight or letting them play will probably decide the game. Tight = Georgia wins. PI called a lot favors UcheaT. Also, like you said, playing in Athens will be a lot tougher than Knoxville where they squeaked by the Gumps.
I'm not sure about the score being beyond the 30's, but the crowd will make this game close. I don't think UT's defense is great but they are decent enough to stop GA more than a few times .The key is if the GA defense can contain the Vols offense?
It will be interesting to see what happens with the playoffs. If they beat UGA and get to Atlanta do they beat Saban twice? Going to be an interesting playoff this year.
I'm rooting for the Vols Doc. Which leads to this scenerio - (expanding on Marines above post) UT beats UGA and wins out to the SECCG Bama wins out to the SECCG UGAs only loss is to UT Bama beats UT in the SECCG How many SEC teams get into the 4 team playoff?
I find rematches tend to not go the way of the initial victor, ergo, the Vols get beat. I will be rooting for them though. Beating Saban twice with Young is a tough ask. However, I am Sick of Bama, Sick of UGA. Would like to see an SEC East team break through and represent our side of the conference for once, even if it is U-Tooth / Lulu and Jr! lol
If Tennessee wins this Saturday, they lose in the playoffs. Gonna piss them off. If Uga wins, Tennessee needs to win VERY well the rest of their games. They can potentially get left out of the playoffs.
Tennessee has the #1 rated offense in FBS, but only the #82 defense. Georgia's total offense is #2, their defense is #4. Tennessee will score, but not enough. Georgia is elite on both sides of the ball, the Vols are not.
Don't know about uga by 21, but I see them winning. Agreed that uga's defense will be the key. Both can move the ball, but uga should get more stops than slUT. Can't pull for either, but I can root against uga more.
Georgia didn't play their best games against Missouri or FLA, and they will lose in Athens with average play. On paper GA, Georgia should cream UT! But, we will see come Saturday.
Tennessee has the better quarterback and wide receiver's. Georgia has the advantage at tightend with Bowers and OL. I just don't care for Stetson or the offensive coaching. The Georgia defense is an advantage and will be solid, but will the offense come through? If Georgia falls behind, I predict an upset!
Big hit for Georgia. Nolan Smith injury: Georgia loses key defensive star for remainder of season with torn pectoral, per reports
Big game for Uga Could be a must win to make the playoffs Let's say UT wins Saturday Only loss is to Bama in SECCG Playoff committee takes a one loss UT and Bama....no Uga No way 3 SEC teams make it
As someone in Orlando area and who watched Heupel coach UCF the guy can coach... The times he got in trouble were against a great defense who could play single coverage and put his defense back out on the field repeatedly and quickly. They would lose based mostly on defensive exhaustion. Georgia can do that but Heupel will scheme them and they will get dinged for at least 2-3 big busted plays. If Georgia can get the Vols to several 3 and outs at Heupels up tempo pace the Vols will tire out on defense and the game will be controlled by Georgia and they will close them out in the 4th with ball control and shuffling in a continuing string of 5 stars which UT doesn't have. Honestly Heupel is the better coach and if it is a fairly called game UT walks out with a win...Heupel is a much better coach for sure than Bowl cut master.
I am for whatever scenario leaves Georgia out of the playoffs. The last thing I want is for them sneaking in after not even getting to the SECCG. Only conference champions should make the playoffs without cute little exceptions that only seem to help Bama and Georgia.
