These scheme's and the position techniques are really dictated by the personnel... but it's the coaches that need to get on board with the scheme that fits it's players that get the best results. The players should NOT be forced into unfamiliar schemes that they are NOT good at, or that their team does NOT have the right personnel to really play at the highest efficiency... for favorable results.

You have to coach the schemes for the personnel that you have... not force personnel to adapt to the coach's scheme/s. That never works.

But as I have said before, I would love to go to a 4-2-5 scheme, and recruit for that scheme. Here in this article below it explains why it's one of the best defensive schemes in football.

Two of the top 3 defensive schemes in this article are what I like for the Gators' coaching staff to try an implement... recruit for.

One on one is M2M... same thing.

    3. CINCINNATI BEARCATS

Cincinnati hasn’t deviated from Marcus Freeman’s single-high structure that isolates their outside corners in one-on-one single coverage under new defensive coordinator Mike Tressel in 2021. And that’s a very good thing considering the Bearcats owned one of the top defenses in college football under Freeman — who is now the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame — in 2020.

Doesn’t this have to do with their QB being a midget who cant throw deep? Combined with their receivers being bad? (Other than the TEs)

aka, receivers arent getting behind us if we play man
