Two four star big men, baby Shaq, 7’, Jalen Reed, four star, 6’9” or 10, 5 star Ward that we wanted. Looks pretty good to me.
Two of those you listed aren't transfers and the rankings being referred to are specifically for transfer classes. We have better guard talent on our roster now in 2 months of Golden than White ever put together...
We Definitely got some good guards and that has me excited. Now, a big that is physical, that can rebound, block and score, say 6’9” at least, then we will be a tough out in the NCAA and SEC tournaments! Not asking for much! As for the two high school recruits you alluded to, part of an excellent class for the cheaters who should of had at least two scholarships taken away and no tournament appearances for at least two years. A parting shot by the director of the NCAA, who worked for LSU for seven years.
LSU kicked our ass as far as Freshman class.. 3 4 high stars including 6-10 Gator signing Jalen Reed who Golden lost when he went for Johni Brome... They also added 3 6-8/6-10 plus 220 transfer types that will pit against our 3 bigs..Collin, Jitiboh, and Felder.
Golden pretty much hit it out of the park recruiting guards and wings. The one issue is our 4’s are a bit skinny and while our 5’s obviously look high end with Castleton an entrenched starter, you do worry about the shoulder being 100%. Both he and Jitiboh have health ?’s. We are probably ahead of 95% of teams on depth, but nonetheless a tweener 4/5 for that last scholarship would be good insurance in case we have any health issues at the 5. The problem is it is hard to attract a guy looking to start when the competition for minutes already looks stiff.
Rather than using the portal, wonder if Golden will pull in a big from the other side of the world, without US college experience.
Said previously that Reed would have gotten so much better battling Castleton at practice for a year. That would have been so much more valuable than starting as a freshman, but perhaps he sees himself as a one and done player
