Your post is a great indication of why this “issue” is so important to discus. When you say Target is on the right size of the issue, you are demonstrating the complexity of debate. So far on this thread you see a divide based upon political leanings. 50/50 like the country. In your mind this is a social justice issue….but is that all that is going on here? Target is a publicly traded company. The BOD has one primary job: make money. Use my money(investment) to make more money. Every decision the BOD makes must be guided by the simple principle: is this going to make money. Politics and social justice is not part of that equation in a publicly traded company. The BOD have a fiduciary duty to put the interests of the shareholders above their own interest. If you want to open a social Justice coffee shop, you are free to do so. America!! You are not using my money for your message. BUT….when the Target BOD starts getting woke, and it costs the shareholder Billions of dollars….well that is a discussion that will likely be had before a Judge and Jury.

I don’t think so and I think I agree with what you are suggesting.
With that said it is likely that some forms will always continue as that’s who some people are wired.
To some degree humans have been tribal since the beginning. It’s almost like it a part of the human condition to have a dislike for those who aren’t like us..
