Much has been said about our schedule and rightfully so. It’s brutal. But polls and pre season expectations are heavily influenced by last season’s record. As Kryptonite pointed out many of these teams will play this season with new QB’s, new coaches and replacing genuine stars from last year.
FSU is a prime example. They had several close calls to mediocre teams, (Clemson and Boston College come to mind), and that was with the heart and soul of their team, Jordan Travis, healthy. They had a good defense by year’s end but, they lose a lot from that unit: including the defensive tackle we couldn’t block last year. They had Lady Luck with them all season until Jordan went down. Georgia brought their arrogant arses down to earth, but nothing embarrasses FSU. They still think they belonged in the playoffs. And now they are under the delusional opinion that the SEC and BIG whatever are anxious to include them in their respective conferences.
If one takes stock of last game momentum or lack of, carrying over to the next season, FSU and a lot of the media might be shocked when they open the season on August 24th in Ireland against a Georgia Tech team that finished the season by winning their bowl game. The Yellow Jackets will be my second most favorite team that day.
No question that I am an optimist, but I feel like we will win at least seven games, possibly 8, and even 9 regular season wins is a possibility. We will then go on to win our bowl game because we will be highly motivated and have very few opt outs.

Conner Weigman... was playing pretty good last year when he injured his foot and had to miss the rest of the 2023 season. He's a good one, for sure. I expect him to be one of the more accurate passing QBs we face in 2024.

I like the way you think.

Win 8+ and recruiting class will be excellent and then we'll be elite deep going forward.

Yes, I like we get them early in the year, since he is under a new OC and scheme.

We are deep and talented this year, and the only team that clearly out talents us is Georgia. The issue with Texas is that they get 2 weeks to prepare for us, it is in their house and their quarterback is very good, but who knows he could have a bad game and that's why the play the game.

One of the issues I have with the schedule is 3 teams get 2 weeks to prepare for us Georgia, Texas and Ol piss. We get 2 games with 2 weeks to prepare for (Georgia and frigin UCF), "Really", our schedule was not tough enough? Why the hell did't we get 2 weeks to prepare for one of our tougher opponents? (not UCF) and our 3 toughest opponents get 2 weeks? Somebody in the SEC really wants us to fail. Remember Arkansas got 2 weeks to prepare for us last year and changed their whole offense, and caught us off guard, and played their best game of the year.

Regardless of experience or inexperience of quarterbacks and players for each of our opponents, we will be playing against a lot of NFL talent and it can take a heavy toll on our players, but if we can use our depth to keep players relatively healthy and fresh they could have a special year, and stick it to whose ever put this schedule together.

If we can somehow get to the playoffs, this battle tested team will make some noise.

I think we should beat the clowns, but as the last game of the season, injures can make a big difference. Ask me in November for my prediction on that game.

I think we have enough depth to compete late in the year, even with some injuries. I'd like to have more proven depth of the o-line, or linebacker, and we can't afford to lose a kicker, but I don't think we are in the same situation as last year.

Non playoff bowl game performances have to be taken with a large grain of salt. Weigman is playing for a new coaching staff.

Huh? Weigman was absolutely guaranteed to be the starter coming into fall camp.

7-5 might be realistic and I can live with that if I see the coaching improvements on the sidelines as well. If we go 7-5 and have 2 to 3 games lost due to special team issues or coaching foul ups like the previous two years then we are going to be in the same situation all over again.

Texas fans do absolutely insist on calling themselves UT, even as they approach the SEC. So, the best thing we can do is challenge them every time they use it. Newbies.

Tennessee is already a hated rival and we have so many ways to pick on Utoothless already. However, pissing off Texas by adoption of TU from aTm and horns down. Well that’s a proper welcome! Bless their hearts…

DYOR. Thats just your opinion. You can see from many sources that there was a diversity of opinion on a qb battle. I believe it was his to lose, but Weigman wasn't full go in spring either and that was a strike against him.

Why on GOD's green Earth would any Gator fan want to adopt an Texas A&M blood feud thing with Texas, like the horns down gesture? That's their childish game... let's not play their games with and for them. We should be above that silliness.

There are many reasons why I temper my expectations and there is reality involved in that. Napier is not a god.
