That is true, unless the decision-making experiences a major overhaul! In the past, they would not consider Kiffen. If they truly want Kiffen, it will mean a commitment to the football team rather than buildings!

The football team is always on the coach and with four coaching failures in a row, that failure is on everyone above that has a hand in the fire.

 

And they have to buy consistent top classes. None of this fringe top 20 slipping to mid teens crap. That’s just if they wanna compete with the top of the sec.if a tenth ranked class is good enough for these guys, we shouldn’t expect to compete for championships.

Ultimately the coach is responsible for the product on the field, but we are now in an era where college football operates like the NFL in some ways and we should not hyper-focus on the coach only without looking at the problem holistically. For example, in the NFL, the owner can choose to manage all the talent on the roster or delegate to the general manager. The head coach only manages the talent if the owner or general manager delegates that authority. In college, there is no owner, and only some teams have a general manager. Also in the NFL, the coaches and players are all on contract and have more options to be traded or moved around the roster. In college, only the coaches are bound to a contract but everyone's timeline is tied to the so-called academic calendar.

That being said, Florida's problems go beyond the head coach. It is true that the right head coach can make an immediate impact, but we will not get there with this university president, this UAA construct, and this athletic director, all operating on a business model that has not changed since 1992. Look at Alabama and Tennessee to get an idea of what Florida needs to do to update its football operations business model and pave the way for a good coach to succeed--once that good coach has been identified.

I always wonder if Diggs and Agholar (sp?) would've committed here if Weis was still OC. And I would assume Weis and Champ definitely clashed behind the scenes. Brissett and Driskel have hung around the league for a good minute.

People hate good teams because they fear them (not saying they fear us now). Don't care what our opponents think of us. The song is a great new tradition that everybody who actually goes to the games loves. Keep it. And, when was our stadium empty? Attendance has been good.
