After they showed Scottie Pippen, my wife says "that was Scottie Pippen?". Yep. She says "He looked like a woman, an ugly one, with a facelift." I noticed that Jr. wasn't upset at all about the late charge call against him. I figured that he knows he gets away with a LOT of them and they are going to call one every now and then. He frequently pushes off to get open. Rarely gets called.
It's amazing that Junior wanted to waste his career at Vandy. Would have loved him playing for the Gators.
I’m not rooting for kids to fail, but there was some justice in how it ended, with the number of foul calls he gets.
They only showed the replay once from the Vandy baseline on the "foul" by McK at the end. They were running side-by-side and Pippen leaned into McK and then fell down like an an Italian soccer player.
correct, but Apple doesn’t get the calls like Pip does and Apple has trouble staying on his feet anyhow.
If Tyree played a north and south game, he would get calls. However, jitterbugs don’t get calls. I do love how when he is dribbling up court and gets the slightest contact, he throws his head and shoulders back like he was hammered. However, the refs aren’t going to give him those calls.
Pippen is a really good player and I actually root for him him when not playing Florida. That said- he pushes off CONSTANTLY. His dad owned a golf course where I lived several years ago. I don’t golf, but would fish the ponds constantly… go figure. I would see Scottie playing golf all the time, and got to know him a bit. We had the same running joke…. Pippen: “Catch anything?” Me: “Yeah, a few. Don’t tell the owner you saw me fishing out here. I hear the guy can be a real ball buster”. Anyway- seemed cordial enough. That, and his kid plays his ass off… has always had me root for jr.
He was constantly grabbing Applebee on defense when Applebee was running around screens and the refs weren’t calling anything. Really poor job of officiating in that game in my opinion.
Pip 1 was an all time great. Pip 2 is a baller too. No issue with either. Pops was a big part of my childhood love for hoops.
W What is a jitterbug. Also if dribbling up court he must be going north, South or he would go right into the stands.
I grew up watching Pippen and Jordan (I just turned 40). I loved Scottie, he was my favorite player from 93-95 and man was he good then. Anyways, I randomly met him at a convention in Las Vegas when I was 13. and he was amazing. Took photos with me and signed autographs without any type of hesitation. Not sure what is going on with him now, I know he is trying to sell books, but the real Pip was something else.
