Yeah I read all that too. It made it more fun. Plus, he's a good director, but you could really see why he's popular in Hollywood in the end credits. Everyone's kids were in the movie

And the expansion of diversity in trades as voting members, which was well deserved, really made the difference

I have to say the Q conspiracy theory on Hollywood was not too well thought out when it was fabricated. I mean really, Tom Hanks as one of your big villains?

The Hollywood business is saturated with assholes that believe their self importance is, as described, by their business agents.

Self absorbed and full of Kardashian types. Unworthy of the attention and compensation they receive.

Pathetic self congratulatory event that embarrasses American Society, right up there with Trump Political Rallies.

Just so impressed with the "Comic Book" movies we are inundated with, like how many batman and spiderman movies will the Public tolerate? Apparently it's limitless.

Can those "Actors" even walk and chew gum? Memorize a line? Disgusting.

Blue Screen warriors that deserve to have there ass back waiting tables before they became "elite".

    And I'm a liberal.......

I wish I liked the comic book movies more. Because they will be with us the rest of our lives.

Yea, that is amazing. And every attempt to stem the tide has been unsuccessful. There was talk of nominating Spider Man with no chance of winning or having Tom Holland host to try to draw in that energy.

One thing I think is too often overlooked - Hollywood is a great source of American power. Even those that claim to hate us love our movies and are subconsciously influenced by them. Heck, the moral center and leader of the heroes that protect Earth in the most successful movie franchise of the last two decades is named “Captain America.”

It’s why China tries to use its economic power to cut in, but they’ve been able to do no better than cut in and squelch criticism; they’ve come nowhere near having the effect on world culture and subconscious perception that American cinema has.

It is crazy to hate Hollywood, with all its boorish behavior, without appreciating it as a great source of American power. Just saw a trailer for the new Top Gun, which will be a worldwide commercial for US Naval Aviation. Do not underestimate its impact.

I find You Tube infinitely more entertaining and certainly more informative.

I did watch the movie "PIG" which IMO is BY FAR the best piece of work and creative license by Nicholas Cage.

And I dislike him as an actor.

No comic book BS, no asinine special effects, no ultra violence.

An actual MOVIE, with real acting, a rarity these days.

I really liked Pig. Thanks for mentioning it. Cage has a new one coming out where it looks like he is mocking himself, with Pedro Pascal

    To quote Renee Zellweger,
    Cage had me at:

"Because I love her" I freaking cried, I'm not ashamed to admit it.

depends. I don’t care if he’s a Scientologist. Nor do I care that Eastwood is a conservative, or that many others are liberal.
But as someone with a fair bit of depression in my family, his comments were outright dangerous on that years ago, and he has never formally apologized publicly. I made a decision that I wouldn’t support his movies at that point, and haven’t seen one in a theater since.
For someone who fled a bad regime, Belafonte or Penn’s support of Hugo Chavez might hit a similar nerve. And in the other direction, someone who supports trans issues may avoid JK Rowling and her books/movies. It often goes past basic politics. And it’s not a snit over where they stand, it’s a basic value prop- the more popular a celebrity is, the louder their megaphone is, so seeing their movies or other support is basically amplifying their message.
And almost no one wants any of that thrown in their faces at an awards ceremony.

It's quite the IRONY that "Hollywood" and the film industry is generally considered Progressive, Liberal and/or enlightened.

I too was long enraptured by the hypnotizing and mind control practiced by the adherents of film and TV, and then, I was aquinted with....... THIS.

I suggest persons listen QUITE CLOSELY to this message and then reevaluate your opinions about the "Hollywood" Business and the thought control they exercise over you!

Raising Arizona is peak Cage, IMO. He’s a funny one. He’s a pretty bad actor - mediocre at best. But he is in a lot of pretty good movies. I think he chooses scripts well. Same thing with Keanu Reeves.

Have you seen Road to Perdition? Hanks plays a cold-blooded hitman. But that's okay because his little boy loves him.

I have not seen that one. Hard to picture, though I trust your judgment so I may give it a run
