Nice post. The few libbies who bragged about the states economy forgot to mention how much they tax and spend out there.
This state shows exactly how to squander a good thing.

California has a lower murder rate than Florida and a much lower murder rate than deep red states like Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Most Californians pay less in total state and local taxes than Texans. Only difference is that the rich pay more in California.

    Texas? More like Taxas

I think that’s a little misleading. By far the largest economic sector in California is finance, insurance, and real estate. Real estate is a whole lot more expensive in California than other places as are, I presume, insurance rates. Having to spend so much for real estate and spending so much to insure the real estate as well as insuring cars and other things, is going to generate a boatload of economic activity. That level of economic activity, however, does not necessarily benefit everyone.

Next you’re going to tell me it’s misleading because California has a large population.

I have no idea the criteria, but I noticed that the top 4 states in your study are from the radical socialist states of Mass, NJ, Conn and NY. That must be an error, right? :p

Based on? Granted Orange County is super safe. That's where I was for 3 years. Irvine and Orange are typically in the top 10 for safest cities in the country. Granted Orange County is one of the last bastions of pubs in the state.

Just using the numbers that were given, did you see who #3 was? This thread is about California correct?

They do have the largest population in the country by a wide margin but the population is actually shrinking. Even U-Haul ran out of trucks in '21 of people leaving California.

It's not misleading at all but thanks for playing. The numbers are the numbers.

    Cherry picking.
Look at how California public universities are ranked. How many in the top 10? Is it 5 or 6, I forget. :)
