In this context, it's the part of our culture that will coexist regardless of race, color, or creed. That's supposed to be what America is all about.

Contrary to the name, "diversity training" has a tendency to stoke division by framing some races/ethnicities/sexual orientations victims and others as oppressors.

We were also founded on these religious liberty principles, and though rights are only restrictions on government, the founders would be rolling in their grave if they learned that traditional religious values are ostracized to the point that one party sees having any sort of traditional Christian views as a negative for someone running for high office.

People have interpreted this principle that church and state should not be intertwined so broadly that people whose faith is central to their life shouldn't run for high office.

Whether or not the MSM wants Trump is irrelevant. What is relevant is whether Republican primary voters want him and so far it seems that they still love the Orange One. Also keep in mind as I have previously mentioned in a number of other posts, Trump doesn't need to win a majority of votes in the Republican primaries to win the nomination. All he needs is to win enough winner-take-all primaries by a plurality to win the nomination. In 2016 he managed to win the nomination with 44 percent of the primary vote and he could easily do so in 2024 with even less the 40 percent.

    That claim is incredibly misleading.

"If there are three other people who did the same thing, but just in a context like [Black Lives Matter protests] and they don't get prosecuted at all, that is uneven application of justice, and so we're going to find ways where that did not happen and then we will use the pardon power," he said, later noting "it will be done on a case-by-case basis."

David Frum is the king of hacks. He is the token conservative that essentially represents everything that actual conservatives loathe about "establishment" Republicans.

    However:

    1. He never attacked vaccines, he attacked mandating vaccines. There is a clear difference.
    2. You're going to have to give me more information than Lapado "is a disgrace" because I have no other context for a state Surgeon General.
    3. There is a Culture War and everyone is fighting it so I am not going to sit there and say that Republicans should pretend it doesn't exist because that is to surrender.
    4. He campaigned for a lot of Republican nominees in major elections. That's what you do when you are trying to build the party. That doesn't mean they are in lock step on every single issue. I don't hold it against any candidate that campaigns for others in their party. It's expected.
    5. Abortion is always going to be divisive so that's to be expected.
    6. Other states and cities want to declare themselves sanctuary states or cities and pretend that there is no illegal immigration so why are people angry when DeSantis helps them out?
    7. DeSantis does not criticize other Republicans in public in a disingenuous manner and he is an excellent communicator so those are about the most Reagan-esque characteristics I can imagine.

I guess using the Presidential pardon power to help people unfairly targeted by the justice system is now authoritarian.

But using the justice system to unfairly target people due to their politics is not authoritarian. :D

I appreciate your answer. I 100% disagree about your comment of victims and oppressors. If you don't think American Indians and Persons of Color WERE oppressed and have legitimate "beefs", well, lets just say I could not disagree more.

Nor were the founding fathers christian cultists bent on Ideological Religous Indoctrination. (Some were of course).
The signitures on the Constitution clearly confirm that.

Black Lives Matter protestors didn't get prosecuted?
    https://www.npr.org/2021/08/20/1029625793/black-lives-matter-protesters-targeted
And by the way the BLM protestors including the one who violated the law never attacked Congress in an attempt to prevent it from performing a Constitutional function.

I'm not talking about the past, I'm talking about right now.

The founders wouldn't call any of the stuff DeSantis is pushing "religious indoctrination." The standard for normal has just been successfully shifted so far in the secular direction by Democrats it looks that way to some people.

What made Reedy Creek District any different from any other special district in the state of Florida? Also, who is in control of creation and modification and dissolution of special districts in the state of Florida, is it the state of Florida or is it... private corporations?

Also, what law says that Disney can't say what they want to say even right this very moment? Does a special district in the state of Florida grant first amendment rights?

Yeah to the letter that's not true, but those were DeSantis's words, not mine. Are you suggesting that inequitable carrying out of justice is an improper rationale for exercising the Presidential pardon power?

Are you saying the use of the Presidential pardon power is authoritarian?

They still broke the law and were treated with kiddie gloves in many Democratic run places.

I would probably agree that random well-paid Democratic consultants probably think Trump is more desirable as a foil to run against, but these are largely the same people that were "terrified" of Marco Rubio and thought nominating Trump was handing Hillary the presidency on a platter. I also think the people that say DeSantis is Trump without the baggage and mean that as a positive kinda miss the appeal of Trump too.

It's not just X bad person. It's much more complex. Everything about DeSantis is manufactured and supporters are starting to take notice. Let's start with running for governor when he knew he would be running for President. How can he govern the state when he is off to Iowa, NH & SC for the next week. It's an issue with Floridians.

The next thing that is odd is he didn't hold a public campaign event in the state that elected him Gov. He would be able to get thousands to show up and cheer him on... right? It certainly would be a bad look if he didn't, which could be the reason he did not. He also is not getting support from our elected House members in Congress. These America First politicians are overwhelmingly giving their pledges to Trump.

One of Ron's biggest backers is Murdoch (the guy that fired the beloved Tucker Carlson). He did Ron's book deal, hosted him at his CA ranch and will give him tons of airtime on Fox. Yes, the network that is spiraling down hill, because America First conservatives will no longer watch anything on the network. The professional Republicans are all backing DeSantis. MAGA despises the professional Republicans more than democrats. When democrats tell you what policy they want, they vote for it. The professional Republicans are the complete opposite.

IMO, Vivek is the dark horse.

Voters remember how DeSantis got elected the first go-around

It’s just one of the only places where Republicans are doing something about it and that’s why they’re angry.

Florida is one of many. It's been the focus of this board because Florida is the only state in which its governor is running for the presidential nomination with a platform largely based on a culture war not to mention that the majority of posters to this board are current or former resident of Florida. Some other states in which the culture war is being fought.

Cute. Currently at least half if not the overwhelming majority of individuals and/or organizations pictured in the second photo are actively opposing Meatball Ron DeSanctimonious even conceding that a number of them may have supported him the first time ran for governor.

The msm will help Trump. I think he probably wins. I will not be voting for him. But if he does win. I will vote for him in the general.
