The same people saying that all liberals support Hamas are the same ones allegedly supporting Israel but not Ukraine.

    Alumni (plural). Not 'alumnus' (singular).

If you're going to be all hoity toity about education, you invite the cheesy, chickenshit, dorky grammar post.

(Hit me back with the downrating. This post begs for it).

Where your analogy face plants, is in the lack of a right side equivalent of CNN, Harvard and other ivy league institutions and respectable leftist media mouthpieces aside from CNN, championing the narrative that Israel is evil, while downplaying who drew first blood, and how.

The post went a bit far in indicting education as broadly as it it, but the grievances are well grounded substantively. I chalk that up to exaggeration for effect, which is pretty normal around here ( and message boards in general).

You’ve said that before. Can you give some examples of CNN claiming Israel is evil and the sole cause of this mess? They went with the first claims about the hospital, but have corrected that, havent they?

I have limited my cable news watching a bit mostly because it's so depressing. But it's interesting how different people are perceiving the coverage. Some folks seem to be complaining that the media are obviously beating the war drums while ignoring the Palestinian plight. Others seem to be complaining that the media is clearly rooting against Israel.

The most ironic thing about the OP is that Jews, worldwide, have attained, on average, higher education levels than just about any other ethnic group. Literacy rates are close to 100% among Jews, and 61% of Jews are college graduates. This is true in both Israel as well as the US. My family included, as I have an MBA, have a sibling with a JD, and another one with a MED. We all have graduate degrees.

And for us educated Jews, we understand the nuance of the situation. We can sympathize and empathize with our Israeli brothers and sisters and understand that supporting Netanyanu's policies is prolonging the status quo. We can understand the blood lust among Israelis, and the mind set that destroying Hamas will lead to a period of peace where Hamas lacks the ability to attack. But we also understand that an Israel war with Hamas that kills thousands of Palestinian civilians will lead to the next wave of Hamas recruitment, and the cycle of violence will only continue ad nasuem.

Israel isn't evil. But it's not lily white either. Hamas is evil, but if the only response is always an eye for an eye, then the only outcome will be the same one we've witnessed every time, which is blindness on both sides. There's nothing wrong with hoping that both sides can one day change and see the futility of the status quo. But this is going to take the Palestinians understanding that Israel and the Jews aren't going anywhere. And going to take Israel trusting the Palestinians that peace is a real possibility. Something in today's world is not likely to happen any time soon.
