People are responding to and engaging with an actual poster who's talking about civil war and being prepared to die. I have never claimed violence is exclusive to the right. It's not.

Maybe not from your perspective, but think about things like bud light. They simply ran an ad that hurt no one and impacted fly over states in exactly zero ways, and look at the reaction. It’s symptomatic of a much deeper level of animosity,
Attacks on Jews, African Americans and Asians skyrocketed. Gays too. That came from the divisive language from the right, including high level politicians. there isn’t a “good” side here.

but my larger question is, what does civil war look like? Are you going to raise an army and march on some local city that won’t accomplish much once the national guard steps in? Random ambush attacks on politicians who will just be replaced by another one? And if and when you gain some sort of power, eliminate democracy? Because people will go back to voting exactly how they do today and you will still be in the minority if you don’t.
Maybe try and take Idaho or Montana and declare it independent? with no ports and surrounded on all but the north by the country you just left? Same with Montana if you went that route.
What is the end game? The world is changing, it’s just a part of life. Sucks for those who don’t want to or can’t come along, but it’s much more about adapting than fighting. Coal isn’t coming back, an overly 1950’s idealized America isn’t coming back, gay marriage isn’t going back in the toothpaste tube, unions aren’t coming back, Vietnam isn’t going to stop making good cheaper, etc etc. I get the anger, truly, but it’s much more at a lost way of life than anything, at least from the outside.

She told me they bashed the south outright when I wasn't around. She had escaped the banjo playing hillbillies so she was safe. When I was they implied that they thought that the south was very backward. Similar to the way my friends thought I was in danger of getting shot when I visited her.

Funny story, I was later bashed them for their ignorant assumptions. I thought it was hilarious that they thought a lot of the south didn't have indoor plumbing. From telling this story I found three people I knew grew up in West Virginia with outhouses. This would have been in the mid 50s to 60s. I had no idea that Appalachian poverty was that severe thst late. My grandfather had an outhouse on his farm but no one used it. He just never bothered to tear it down until I was grown.

By the way, the three people all had college degrees. One had an MBA, one is an RN the other runs a restaurant and bar with her husband. Education in the U.S.A. must be doing something right.

Police are investigating bomb threats made against Target stores in three states after being alerted by local media outlets that received emails referencing the retail chain's decision to remove or relocate LGBTQ collections celebrating Pride Month.

"Target is full of cowards who turned their back on the LGBT community and decided to cater to the homophobic right wing redneck bigots who protested and vandalized their store," the emailed threat read in part, Cleveland 19 News reported.
