Looks like you can't go wrong. My next Scotch open will be Glendronach Cask Strength. It's excellent, esp. if you appreciate the sherry cask finish.

Tebow, Percy, RFN, Smith, etc. We clearly do not win without Meyer players. And obviously it’s well documented how Meyer changed the culture and got miles more out of the players than Zook. I’ve never claimed Zook didn’t give talent…it’s just used as a convenient excuse. A coach doesn’t do well because the previous coach or vice versa. Zook doesn’t get remotely get close to a title if he stuck around

It's a horizontal passing game. We need to challenge Milton to go down field and hope it works. If he connects on some down field passes, we're in trouble.

Not remotely close? I disagree. I was pretty heavy into recruiting in those days and the class he was about to bring in before getting let go was absurd. He was stockpiling talent at that point.

Thank you. I've read similar comments about how Napier's offense is inadequate for today's SEC multiple times and always wondered if the posters had any idea what they were talking about. I also remember folks saying that Urban's spread wouldn't work in the SEC, was too horizontal, etc. Heck, the internets weren't around in '90 but folks in the news media doubted that Spurrier's fun-n-gun could work against the stout SEC defenses.
The most likely truth is that all of these critics in the past & present are FOS.

Why even think this way? You could be right or you could be wrong, but focusing on nothing but the negative (to me at least) sucks all the joy out of rooting for the team. Do you genuinely get joy from considering an o'fer against rivals? If not, why even do this and not join a shuffleboard league or something?

Yes. No offenses work when the pieces are subpar. It’s funny when ppl are talking about scheme, but what scheme can work when your OL can’t hold their blocks? Blame CBN all you want to, but he tried to mitigate that and moved the ball down the field. Players still need to execute at the end of the day.

    Im an analyst/researcher at heart

I’m obviously rooting for the Gators, but yes I love prognosticating about what should happen if something happens. To me that’s the beauty of the sport. Even within the game, what adjustments to make? For the program, what adjustments to make?

To me just watching with no analytical perspective is similar to just watching a sitcom. That’s just entertainment

We are here to be entertained. If you dropped your phone in the toilet, THAT would be entertaining.

Thanks, I appreciate your response. I'm a bit of a researcher myself, but prefer to devote those skills to my discipline/profession. For me, cfb is a pleasant distraction. It's precisely "just entertainment." The beauty comes from the sport itself, the poetry in motion. It also comes from my personal and professional affiliations with the university. Given that, though, football is just for enjoyment and rooting for the team. To project negativity to it compromises that enjoyment.

It better be UT. I don't think we match up very well with this year's FSU team.

For sure. But I do not view myself as negative or even positive. From an analytical perspective I just view it as it is. The data is what it is. That part isn’t emotional at all.

I’m obviously a Gator and am rooting like hell for them to win emotionally. And I’ll take a win any way it can happen. I think I’m as big of a Sunshine Pumper as any on that side

Franks to Trask was instantly night and day. Bamas o sucks because Milroe sucks. It’s not rocket science and Mel kipper isn’t explaining shit to Mullen. Gtfooh.

I was referring specifically to this.
Which data are you referring to?

    W/L record, positional rankings, etc.

We both can agree if Napier starts winning or even if the team becomes more competitive then he won’t have anything to worry about
