I posted the Lake quote on another thread but it probably didn’t belong there. The I saw the Trump story and figured they were worth their own thread, These kind of threats are not exactly what this country is about. or at least was about
Agreed. The worst is that it is no longer "news" it's primarily: "SHOCKING NEWS!!! Hear what Fred B. said about Trump's hair after Trump alluded to Mary S's clothing. The entire ugly story in 60 seconds." It's no longer what happened. It's who said what about whom or about an event - not the actual event. Frankly, it's brilliant because it allows "news programming" to create their news. It's a never ending supply of material to fill that large 24/7 bucket.
Maybe if you were surrounded and constantly attacked by journalists who never had good intentions, maybe you too might get irritated. It seems we have a serious dearth of empathy from one side on this issue. The side with the media army at their disposal doesn’t give a shit because the media does it’s bidding with no questions asked.
Truly baffling to me that media is broadly good to conservative talking points on things like immigration, crime and the economy and yet they hate it so much. Force of habit I guess.
Constantly claiming to be a victim does not mean you really are. It also has nothing to do with “all media is not the same.”
Fox’s stiry Kari Lake says she'll be media's 'worst freaking nightmare for eight years,' vows to 'reform the media' anyone think the governor has that authority?
Really funny … especially when the Dems whole schtick is convincing everyone that their life sucks and it’s someone else’s fault.
It may have at one point made sense to speak of "the media" as a monolith. I certainly don't know how that makes any sense - today at least - with so many personalities on cable news, talk radio, podcasts, and social media, and those who seem to write a best-selling book every other month. Not to mention conservative ownership of Sinclair and other media companies which are involved in our local news. I do think that the "news" has gotten more opinion-oriented, but I don't think that's limited to one side or the other.
Think about Dear Leader’s rally’s and what he says and who he blames. It grievances and blaming everyone and everything for two hours. And this is in a thread about a politician complaining how the media is tough. Gee I wonder why she doesn’t like tough questions.
does the media not need reforming? they do. it's been happening for a few years now. conservatives are creating their own space and picking apart the false narratives and flat out lies of the mainstream media. so much of it takes little research and just sharing the evidence. and we have real fact checkers now. no more fake politi-fact clowns. Kari Lake does not take shit from the media.
