I'm concerned they are going to limit DJ from running out of fear of injury and that could severely hamper his effectiveness. No good happens on the football field when you are playing not to get injured...it doesn't work well.

Boosters hold payments and ad does what must be done to receive payment. Permanently pissing off the big boys is not an option. It’ll get done if boosters say so. They could hold off if the hire they want won’t sign I would think. I’d guess talks have been ongoing. Boosters aren’t coughing up 26 mil without a plan.

Its happened before when BHGjr. called up Bob Bryan (interim prez) and told him to hire Spurrier. Arnsparger was well under way toward hiring Mike Archer of LSU and got overruled. I suspect that irked him since he left very soon after to go back to the sidelines in the NFL.

If that happens maybe Stricklin will be irked and slink on back to Mississippi.

Dont see anything like that happening now. The Sasse replacement is insanely fraught, buying out Napier and everyone else is upwards of $30 million, there is no Heisman winning favored son waiting in the wings, etc. No way Fuchs saddles the search committee with the baggage, precedent, and whatever fallout comes from going around Stricklin.
