If there is coaching turnover there will likely be an exodus of players transferring. if Napier is retained, we may also see an exodus of players transferring - other programs will be attempting to poach our talent as usual.
He'll be the next Dawg when Beck leaves the spot open. You all do know Florida is where we groom Georgia's players right?
If Napier stays, I wouldn’t fault the players if they went elsewhere. Our staff coaches like this is pee-wee football. Every player gets playing time, no matter if it makes sense or not or if they perform or not. DJ drives the team down the field for a score, he gets pulled. Mertz gets in a rhythm and drives the team down the field and he gets pulled. There is no rhythm to the decisions that the coaching staff makes. They have their plan and stick to it no matter how things are going on the field.
Some will leave immediately, and they were players who were probably transferring regardless. And some will wait to see whether UF hires Kiffin at top dollar or gets a bargain on Goober O’Riley, who led SW Wyoming Tech to an impressive 9-3 in the Big Sky Conference.
AR said on a podcast he was not going to play another year for Billy Napier. AR loves UF, so I didn't understand that fully at first. After seeing players with NFL potential annually leave the program, and seeing Napier literally stands in the way of his own team from winning vs Tennessee, now I can say I fully understand big picture of why things have played out the way they have. At every scenario, there's a common denominator and person where the problem is. Billy Napier
AR was mostly right even if he had stayed, since he would have likely gone down with a season-ending injury after a routine tackle in the — who did we play second last year? — Charlotte game.
The reasons Lagway chose to play for Napier are why he would never play for Kiffin. That being said,he will transfer.
Character, family man, etc. Duh! You think he came Florida from Texas for football reasons? Good one.
Sorry, this is nonsense. Yes, Lagway will get reps. Ok. Good. Great. Cool! But the reps yielded through incompetent playcalling and sloppy coaching is inexcusable.
I was making a joke. AR said he would not play another season for Napier. I said AR was almost certainly right because he would have had a season-ending injury (as he usually does) early in 22, and he would not have played another season for Napier.
On the other hand it was the Texas oil money that kept Ewers at Texas another year and would probably pay Arch Manning enough to use his full five years of eligibility at UT (he will have three remaining after this year). I'm really worried about DJ leaving if Napier goes and he obviously should be gone but I don't think Texas will be his destination.
