According to Stewart Mandel who predicted the 23 Gators would finish 3-9 (1-7).

Well, we aren't pretty right now, but we are winning. Bottom line, we aren't going to finish with Stewart Mandel's predicted record.

I would like to see more consistency on offense, but UF now has the right place kicker, DUH!, a very good defense, and an offense that shows flashes of what it can be as it continues to improve. I'd also like to see fewer penalties, better use of our timeouts, and for Trevor Etienne to get more touches. I like Montrell Johnson, but he shouldn't be getting 2 carries to 1 for Etienne.

Next up is a beat down on the 4-0 Kentucky mildcats.

Etienne got more carries when it mattered. I’m hoping first half Tenn is what we see more of when it’s needed. I sure hope Wilson is back next week.

and Marcus Burke too. UF needs all hands on deck for at UK.

UF's TD last night came on a reception by TE Arliss Boardingham. He looks big, athletic, and talented. Glad he came to UF.

MJ had a really good first series. After that, Charlotte seemed to stiffen up against the run and reinforce the box. They had good size and quickness to their line. We ended up at 3.8 a carry, not sure what it was if you exclude the first drive.

Playing so vanilla and not using Etienne didn’t surprise me but I thought Webb might have gotten a few more carries.

I'll be thrilled if we go close to .500 the rest of the way with the remaining games.

Biggest thing that concerns me thru 4 games is we seem to be vulnerable to some big plays on defense. Even our weak opponents have gotten at least one or two. As far as penalties we're only averaging about five a game since Utah where we had ten, and I'm okay with that. I think that's about as low an average per game as i can remember and I've been going to games since 1961.

Every game will be tough. Win some lose some more than likely.

If you want to play bump and run and be aggressive, you’re going to get beat over the top on occasion.

That's just gonna happen with as young as they are. Honestly, as young as they are they are performing great while getting tons of experience. This same defense with the 2007 offense wins a natty. Gaining experience without the same growing pains of that 07 defense and we know how they eventually turned out

I agree. I just said that was the biggest concern I have with this team.

I’m not so worried about it as it’s just the way pkaying that type of d goes. A better qb will connect on thosevthrows though. We’ve been fortunate to play subpar qbs so far. Our lack of protection for our qb and not opening holes consist for our running game concerns me much more.
8 men in the box and bring the heat prevents long pass routes. Seems to be a good plan to slow us down.

Missing 3 OL starters and Eugene Wilson contributed mightily to that issue Saturday.

I can just about guarantee GA and others are gonna run that screen play that Charlotte missed. They had a back WIDE the freak open and if the QB just laid the ball up there, the back woulda run a long way.

Stewart Mandel cannot ever be taken seriously again. I will say we only 1 Forced turnover this year. KY already has 2 INT’s returned for Td’s. Need to force and create some TO’s.
Webb is not seeing the field. Bulldozer mentality and runs into the lineman with his head down. I’d like to see him keep his head up and find the cutback. He’s young so maybe that comes.

Let’s see if Napes can win a big game on the road. He’s come close, but no cigar.
