Whether you personally like Billy or not, I think almost all of us want him to succeed because we want the Gators to get back to a winning tradition and the fastest path is that Billy brings us there so we get off the 3-4 year coaching search.

 

I think we've already seen. We are a decade and a half out and a string of uninspiring hires past being really competitive for championships. Its almost as if they're going through the motions. Even Vandy fires and hires a new football coach now and then and we KNOW in advance that won't really change a thing as far as their overall performance as a program goes.

 

First of all, I really want Billy to succeed here

But he needs a ST Coach, Big Time OC hire and 1 OL Coach that can actually recruit.

 

You know the NFL left a bad taste in his mouth…he wants another one ….. or two or three.

 

i swear i mused that idea and man that would be the biggest….idk what to call it “situation” if CBN didn’t work out and we rehired Urban lol

 

Don’t ever see it happening but if things go south with BN, there is really only one guy out there that can probably guarantee UF a shot at a title. Otherwise it’s always going to be a wait, hope and see.

 

agreed!! I really hope Napier works though. Offensively, it’s frustrating because we’ve seen Spurrier (incorporate the shotgun way more against FSU in 97 Sugar Bowl), seen Meyer and Mullen tinker the O in 05 to fit the O by using a FB, seen Mullen adapt in 2019 and 2020 when we couldn’t run the ball like we did in 2018. Heck, even Mullen said he ran a thing or two by Spurrier on more than one occasion when it came to offense.

adapt the play calls and pace to suit our personnel. If our OL can’t block, why are we giving the Defense extra time to get set before the snap?

Bobby, do you think Urban would work at any high level job now? He's obviously got a great resume but is he damaged goods now? Guy is just strange.

 

Yeah but can he? Is he yesterday's news? Even if he lands a new gig, I have my doubts. Besides his shelf life is 5 years before he goes stupid.

 

I think the game has passed guys like him by, the drill sergeant stuff will have everyone running for the portal.
