The way the game was played today, we are definitely more than one year out from being even remotely competitive. Next years' schedule is filthy on top of everything. No way we bridge (after a performance like today, even mostly this year), the talent gap gets bridged that quickly. Even with class coming in (big if, if it sticks), this is likely another two year build. At least.

I’m sorry Gator fans, I cannot envision ome.

I cannot see a future at UF for a coach that starts 0-2 against Kentucky, getting absolutely owned in the process. This isn’t LSU, UGA, or Alabama. This is Kentucky, a solid but middle-of-the-road SEC program.

I can tolerate having our true freshman beaten by more experienced players. I can tolerate making rookie mistakes. Today’s game was simply intolerable. We looked no better today than in our Kentucky game last year. In fact we looked worse.

I cannot envision a future at UF with Napier long term. Young talent didn’t cause 13 men on the field, a PF on a Kentucky punt, going for consecutive runs on 3rd and long, complete lack of situational awareness, complete lack of imagination in playcalling, and complete disregard for special teams and the “details” that Napier’s supposed “process” should address.

So what the hell is the point of all this?

Uhm it’s just entertainment. I still get up the next day and go about my business. If the entertainment value isn’t there for me, I do something else.

Billy, just show me you've got something cooking here. Find a way to give us hope.

I am a Billy Napier guy. But today has me rethinking. This team is not motivated. I think Princely is overrated and watched Kentucky run by him all day. The more than 11 players on the field is getting old and the conservative playcalling is getting old. We have speed at receiver. Let's send them straight down field. If we're going to get humiliated at least make it entertaining. Frustrated Gator!lol

A 335 defense sucks if the other team can run and pass. We played right into their strengths. Austin is going to have to learn, we are playing against 8 & 9 man fronts, the SEC. They can stop us with enough tough men, we can’t stop anybody but D2 or FCS teams with defense like the 335. It allows a decent qb a lot of time to complete passes and run gashes like we saw today. These players aren’t taking plays off, they are getting worn down with more blockers then we have defenders. We have played aggressive mostly this year, but deep zone pass defense and no rushers due to too many in The zone pass defense are getting us mauled. Not a good look for our DC. Of course our offense doesn’t move the chains, bad play calling, no urgency from our OC, aggressive to him means running the ball three times in a row. He doesn’t understand how to play aggressive defenses with his passing game. Throwing a bomb on first down we haven’t connected on all year. Somebody else maybe should be the qb and without a doubt a new aggressive OC who understands keeping defenses guessing. Since our Gator Admin and athletic director have never played football shows that there is no urgency and changes that are needed won’t be made now. I guess all any Gator fans can say now, is the same thing the Captain of the Titantic said, Good Luck all!

The media is going to rip us like we are dumb and dumber as the losses mount.

The scheme worked but our guys tackled like women trying to avoid breaking a nail. Watch the replay. Half of Davis' runs had initial contact that would have been good but not awesome yards. I counted 6 runs where we made contact at the LOS but he ran over or through the defender. Vandy's D tackled better and Vandy's D is far far far stronger than our soft defense. It is what it is - we are finesse all over again and we just saw a mini Nebraska steamroll us. The scheme was good but we were too weak to execute it. Davis was going juggernaut almost the entire game.

It could, having a functional offense changes all the game dynamics. Most basically number of snaps played on defense and fatigue or even anticipated fatigue.
Players are not robots, they see both sides of the ball and certainly can get negative or have negative thoughts creep in affecting their play when the momentum or any hope of momentum feels completely lost. They can also get fired up when the other phases have their back.
Complementary football right? It is possible to win a game 35-33 when you have to. Look no further than UK, they allowed 28 to Vandy, still won. Sometimes your defense is flat and you gotta be able to outscore someone.

I said sustained drives scoring points...you know scoring every time we get the ball..not just owning time between the 20s

    Quote of the year.
I also continue to notice DB’s watching as other attempt to tackle, and the DB is just standing there. Geez, put your pads in there and assist, hit the guy, bring him down! Why are you watching??

It’s beginning to be more obvious that this is a bust hire… again

I can almost see Napier and his staff being content and relieved to beating cupcakes, possibly tacking on an underdog win here or there, against the likes of UT and Utah last year. All just to keep the heat off and do enough to not get canned. Hoping that he’ll strike lightning in a bottle eventually and field a complete roster full of talent so they can win while covering up a lot of coaching deficiencies

Also explains the lack of emotion, bland interviews, and canned responses. He doesn’t want to say or do anything rash, on purpose. He may only have a whopping grand total of 3 plays on that playbook, but he’s smart enough to know what can happen if he accidentally lets one slip, says the wrong thing, and then get fired for cause, missing out on that buyout. Just like what happened to Mac.
