Napier is a solid recruiter and CEO. He has done much to rebuild the program internally and reinstall culture but he needs to realize his own weaknesses. The season is what it is but he needs a high powered OC and a special teams coach in the worst way. He needs to reassess the offensive line coaching and understand that Etienne is your all purpose back. Johnson is a solid 2. Smack was a welcome change. Go Gators.
Not sure I’m buying it. Nothing we have seen shows he is a solid CEO or reinstated culture. What happened today was embarrassing. Zero discipline and complete lack of fundamentals. Lining up with 13 players on the field? The mistakes this team makes tells me the opposite - he is in fact not a good CEO.
No..but perhaps if you are scoring a bunch..it helps keep the other team's offense off the field..and it rests our defense
Hi there old buddy! You sure got lost on the dark (premium) side and haven't found the good side for too long! LOL! I'll say this: Coach Napier is very self-aware. Nothing major should be expected during the season though . . . but it wouldn't be too hard to tweak special teams and I think he will do that mid-season. Already changed kickers.
I was referring to the fact that he presumably resides in Kentucky. Haha. Gonna be rough around the water cooler.
If you don't have Horace Copeland and the 92 ala defense the three man front just does not work. We don't have that yet. That's why in 93 ala changed to the four man front. Edit: John Copeland and Eric Curry
500 football does not in any way make Napier a solid coach. His play calling is sophmoric, and the ability to adjust during the game is non existent. Go Gators.
Before the season most had us 5-7 6-6. We have a young team mostly, when Wilson, Jean plus the other freshman WR start next year have speed like we used to have. Most of the OL will be back Our D is young. I did think we could beat Kentucky but Stoops has had 12 years, Napier 2. What bothered me was we just looked flat that can't happen. I still love my Gators and will be cheering hard next game.
Stoops lost a lot of consecutive games to UF before his current success. I must admit I did not expect a Will Muschamp offense from Billy Napier.
Could tell this was going to be a rough game from the opening series. Gave up a sack on the second play from scrimmage and then had the long run negated by a penalty. They turned around and rammed the ball down our throats. The game was basically over in the first quarter.
