House GOP plots investigative revenge on January 6 panel. Fun times ahead. We can look forward to the House airing the election fraud lie and attacking members of the January 6 Committee for airing information supplied by Trump’s advisories. And those hearings into the arrest and detention of their allies in the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys should be interesting too.

Dysfunction just gets worse and worse in Congress. The only way the GOP can regain its gravitas and again be a positive force in the House is for Donald Trump to be completely out of the picture with zero influence. He has been a cancer in the body politic. In my opinion, in light of the harm he's caused, agreement with his policies no longer justifies supporting him.

That’s pretty much all they do when they’re in charge so of course they’ll do it again. With just the Clintons alone there was Benghazi, emails, Vince Foster, travelgate, troopergate, Monica, and filegate. I expect them to go after Hunter Biden, Dr. Fauci, and the Jan 6 committee. Just like all the others it will go nowhere. If they get busy with some serious legislation then they might be taken seriously, but since they have no policy agenda I don’t expect they’ll do much.

I don't understand why the Republican party is recognized as anything more than a Domestic Terrorist Group at this point?

That's interesting because in the past GOP leaders and its fans like @back2back2006 have said that people don't care about January 6th and are focused on the economy. Funny how feelings can change once you gain power

Seriously, they’re going to have their investigations that as usual go nowhere. Republicans just don’t have the capacity to govern, but they’re great at grievance politics. I saw a meme that said something to the effect “They’re flying electric helicopters on Mars, but people can’t run their dryers in Texas. That’s because scientists are in charge on Mars, and Republicans are in charge in Texas.”

Speaking for myself only, I am not anti-republican despite policy differences. (One of my favorite sayings is "reasonable people can differ", and I would add to that "reasonable people can compromise ".) I have an abiding faith in the two-party system and what each party has historically brought to the table.

My concern is with today's Republican party - not with its policies so much as with its disregard of democratic norms. This is no more evident than with its continued supplication before Donald Trump. An example of this is banishing Liz Cheney from her leadership position solely because she has offended Trump's abhorrent conduct during and after the election and has stood up at great personal cost to defend our cherished democratic norms. Every House republican should have joined her. One can find fault with the January 6 hearings, but one thing is crystal clear to any unbiased observer: Trump refused to peacefully transfer power - one of our sacred democratic norms - and instead used every means at his disposal to obstruct Congress in his quest to overturn a fair and decisive election.

I want nothing more than that the Republican party distance itself from Donald Trump and reestablish itself as the Grand Old Party. I don't think the American voters will much longer tolerate its present path. At least, I hope not.....and fear the consequences if it doesn't.

I’m sure they’ll be able to get in alignment enough to pass more tax cuts for the rich that future generations have to pay for. Trickle down ftw! Lmao.

Well with the crap and the witch hunts the liberals have done since they came into power, you know the republicans will expose their lies and they should.
It's really sad how both sides spend more time trying to make the other look bad instead of doing what our country needs. If we do take control at least we should be able to stop the bleeding that Biden and his idiots have caused

Yet another side effect from the Covid vaccine, removes all logical thinking and causes you to say ignorant things, bless his heart.
