Let me remind everyone again. The rules are posted and pretty clear. You can't cut and paste more than four paragraphs. Less if the source story is short.

    Thanks

Also, if you copy and paste an article you must provide a link to the whole article.

Moving this back to the top since there's been some confusion about posting much longer quotes from laws, etc.
The rule is no more than four-paragraphs. Even if it's non-copyrighted, we have to have some limit. Otherwise, someone could post 30 pages from the Florida statues.

    thanks

One reason is the mods don't have time to research what is copyrighted and what is not.

I went back and deleted the bulk of my posts in the graduation thread that triggered this reminder, but a 4 paragraph rule is not very workable based on the way statutes are historically written. I think a lot of people will be missing out on a lot of context and there seems to be significant interest in statutory schemes, how they are interpreted and their application to different factual situations, but I respect the fact I don't make the rules.

I don't see how that would ever be an issue when posting state statutes or US Code sections. They are widely available for public consumption. You are, after all, charged with the knowledge of all of them.
