I think the point with prior players is overblown. Of course, a player will be better as a senior than they were as a Fr, particularly on the line of scrimmage. That's the natural progression.

The problem is UF had to shoulder the burden of early playing experience, but don't get to reap the benefits with them as an upperclassmen in these cases. There are plenty of examples where players have developed well individually under BN. The problem is it takes 11 people playing together to be successful as a team. BN can't seem to pull that together. It also doesn't help that I can't remember the last time we had good play from our safeties.

The administration may need to get cleaned out if they hamstring a head coach too. I never hear anything solid about that.

No offense or defense should completely fall apart from 1-2 players missing an assignment. Your scheme, effort, tempo, play design and athleticism should be able to overcome that. I am CONVINCED the defense suffers from overthinking. I watched Jarvis moss break down some film and he was like “yeah, they’re running the right scheme and it’s really complicated and difficult to play against if everybody does everything the right way “but that’s not what’s happening… Players either don’t get it, they’re new to the system, young, have had injuries, you’re not communicating it effectively, and they aren’t bought in… Any number of reasons, guys are playing slow and looking to sidelines and they’re out of position not hitting run fits, not staying home, taking bad angles… And the whole thing falls apart… What they should’ve done a long time ago is throw your stupid process in the trashcan and light it on fire and find out “what 11 dudes we have, what six or seven of them are pretty good and design everything around them and let them go play with their hair on fire… run a 4-3 or whatever they ran in highschool and send three or four guys after the ball no matter where it goes and send a guy after the quarterback and play with your hair on fire… all of this front disguises crap… That stuff is really cute. Just like you’re playaction is really cute and works if everybody does their job, but they’re not going to, and they’re not ever going to ,you think if you just keep doing the process over and over again that you will perfect it… You’re three years in it’s not gonna happen… Run the freaking air raid and let them play fast

I love it when Billy pimped how great special teams in 2023 was over the summer. Not sure he was selling the disaster or obtusely unaware of that disaster..he can’t get out of gainesville quick enough.

well, in his defense, he was going by the ratings ESPN listed - which is tied to the specialists. Florida did have solid kicker and punter. The rest? Laughable.

Timing looks bad. I haven't seen any names mentioned that are absolute top shelf and we may be too discombobulated to pull an unexpected coup.

If we were Kiffin's "top of the mountain" and he hated uga and fsu worse than gonnhorea... then maybe he'd fit the bill. I'm guessing he'll get a raise and we'll get egg on our face because of aforementioned discombobulation.

I'd probably rather keep Napier than go 2nd choice reach. Problem is our roster will get burnt and he won't be able to hire a stout staff he needs, including OC, even if he knew how.

Discombobulated might be the best word to describe our situation. Screwed might be another good descriptor.

We would not know, but does our Defense practice against an up tempo scout team or the first team offense, which runs the same slow tempo in games? I doubt our scout team, and certainly not our first team offense, imitates the next team we will play. Not surprising if the defense is confused or out of position.

As time goes on and Hugh can't get his Ole Miss magic back, I'd take Orgeron. Get him on the cheap and compensate for successes

based on Napiers comments from post game Aggie press conference, he is in the middle of evaluating the scout team and we can expect the scout team to help prepare the team next season.

You mean if we miss on Kiffin... Or we cheap-out again. Yep... that would do it.

The university cannot afford to go cheap again. As an alumnus, I have supported UF donating to the college of LA&S and to my department. My wife and I are Gator Boosters, baseball season ticket holders. I attended both football and basketball games when in season. I know this is wrong, but I am finding it hard to give on the academic side when the sport I love is performing poorly and looks mismanaged at the institutional level. I am not sure how many other alumni feel this way but I am feeling this way lately.
