May use the PC to announce it. But I think we would have heard by now. There is a lot to figure out mechanically so I'd guess we for him during the bye.

That way of thinking did a lot of damage, and it’s obvious now that it was a coping mechanism to justify those losses and the ugly product we saw on the field.

Shane speculating that we don’t have an interim coach so timing will probably be a bit later…maybe bye week.

Agreed. Lots of moving pieces with a road trip this week. BN at the helm at least everything is operating as it has been. Cant imagine the confusion that would come with firing a coach on Monday, and leaving 4 days later for a road football game.

the issue you have is everyone on the staff and admin support are probably already looking for their next job.

Napier and Elko were hired within a month of each other at their respective schools. Elko turned Duke around in less than a year. I remember watching Duke that year and they looked so much more organized, fundamentally sound and played harder than us. They ended up being a top 25 team in 2023. Now, anyone who says Duke has more talent and resources than Florida is out of their mind. There is no way Duke should be in the same conversation as Florida when it comes to football. Napier is probably a good guy but he does not have the coaching chops to be a top flight SEC head coach. Cut him loose right now before he does more damage to the program.

I think this is why high level coaching contracts should be performance based. These guys are just going through the motions, does not matter what happens this year for them. They are all probably putting out feelers and are not fully committed to winning

it was Samford! Mertz had way better stats against A&M and Billy's lack of desire to win had him sticking to his "plan" of rotating each QB regardless of outcome (his words)

Agreed. If they can him this early in the season, it will probably be during the bye week so they can get organized for the next game. Last I checked, we have a game this Saturday.

Spurrier has done more than enough for UF. Let him and Jerri enjoy thier time together. Urban is not interested. Kiffin is a great offensive mind. However I think he would jump to the NFL if he gets the chance. Meanwhile it approaching 12:00 AM. No PC scheduled except for the regular one. What time is that PC? We should know something by who steps up first to the podium. Of course someone in Gainesville can hang out near the practice facility. See if CBN ir running the practice. We'll have our answer then.

Do people on here actually think him or urban Meyer would even be interested? It's not like God himself appoints the guy the UAA chooses to be coach until terminated. Lol.... You're dreaming of you think these guys would entertain it for more than 30 seconds.

One of those games was against Samford, a FCS opponent. Take that game away and the rankings certainly plummet.

I don’t think they would just give up and put in half ass effort. They’re essentially auditioning for future jobs now. Who would want to hire someone who just gave up because they knew the “writing was on the wall?” I, for one, would want to hire someone who can demonstrate they will give 110% effort regardless of the situation.

I mean, they put in half ass effort for 3 years and made more money during that time than many families will make over a lifetime, and to top it off will likely make the same amount in buyouts. Why start trying now?

Yes, take out Samford and our Total Offense is 123d and our Total Defense is 129th. Of course, that doesn't account for other teams' cupcakes.

FSU didn't really have a cupcake like Samford yet, and their TO is 128th and their TD is 76th. Overall, it's too early to make any legitimate estimates.

So based on that who would be favored over at this point? The Samfords yes, but P4 teams? There is talent on this team, but what is the team's identity?

Hate to say it but BN has got to go. Yesterday UGA looked bad but Kirby raised hell with the offense late in the game and they responded immediately. Never once in three years saw BN raise hell with anyone (coaches or players). However the program will take a blow when he does go.
