10-3 acc and 7-5 sec means an average team. If a team isnt even ranked they arent very good. You can be 10-3 and ranked in the ACC and still not be very good. 7-5 in sec, you arent ranked but may beat that 10-3 acc paper tiger. We need to be 8-4ish to even be average really. 10-2 with our schedule would give me hope against anyone in the playoff. Three losses in that shit conference and you're probably not beating a legit playoff team.

Did anyone actually call Billy a miracle worker, or is that some of the "mental gymnastics" that you're decrying?

Yes miracle worker was hyperbolic and a poor choice by me, but there are still entire preseason threads with 7-5 being an accomplishment.

I get the feeling we won't know the status of BN as coach until after the season. My hunch is without 2 more wins he will not be retained.
Our recruiting will/is taking a huge hit, and hopefully the portal will be a help.

Just saw a post on FB showing a letter from Stricklin stating that BN is staying put.

FIngers crossed we can get past playing .500 football and being a whipping boy for our rivals.

Looks like Scott Stricklin and Billy Napier are a package deal.

Florida gives Billy Napier vote of confidence, putting embattled Gators coach on track to return in 2025
    By David Cobb

    moments ago•3 min read
Third-year Florida coach Billy Napier received a key vote of confidence Thursday from athletic director Scott Stricklin. The endorsement comes as the Gators continue navigating a historically difficult 2024 schedule with Napier's record at just 15-18 (8-13 SEC) entering Saturday's game at No. 5 Texas.

Florida is 4-4 (2-3 in SEC) this season and faces an uphill battle to reach a bowl game; the Gators still must play the Longhorns, No. 14 LSU and No. 16 Ole Miss before closing at struggling rival Florida State.

"As we've seen these past several weeks, the young men on this team represent what it means to be a Gator. Their resolve, effort and execution are evident in their performance and growth each week – building a foundation that promises greater success next season and beyond," Stricklin said in a statement. "UF's commitment to excellence and a championship-caliber program is unwavering. In these times of change across college athletics, we are dedicated to a disciplined, stable approach that is focused on long-term, sustained success for Gator athletes, recruits and fans.

Put that $26M into hiring an offensive coordinator position and buying a ridiculous roster!

Billy’s offense isn’t really a problem. But that $26M could go get the best OL and DL in the country for the next 4 years at least.

So boosters are willing to destroy this recruiting class and jeopardize the team’s future just to get rid of Billy. Why can’t they get a good recruiting class and get rid of Billy?
