Hope the next hire is the right one! Your assessment is spot on but leadership hasn't demonstrated sustained successful results in nearly 20 years.

That was whistling past the graveyard. His personality was well known, he never had the connection with base beyond winning more than JM.

His quirkiness appeared comical on a national stage and he tanked after over stepping following the covid Tam game

He also had a terrible vs top 25 record and people sold it as wait till he gets fla athletes

    And they aren't.

The UAA is a separate and distinct legal entity from the University.

    Did you actually attend UF?

No but my brother did. I understand they are tied together but they don’t have to be run as if the other is preventing anything.

I have to give you love because you sustain Rawpimple's infamous quote as your sig line. Those of us who've been here back then remember this. To this day, some STILL believe that...

First paragraph of my post is pure coaching errors. Guy is paid to do a job and pointing out that putting 12 men on the field is unacceptable is not hate.

Second paragraph relates to folks (including you) telling us that you saw Napier building something we didn’t see. You were telling people that they were haters for saying napiers scheme, last year, was predictable.

Nobody, certainly not me, said BN was “evil”. They said he was a bad coach, but you said those people were “haters” and questioned why they "hated" BN. Perhaps they hate how he coached, not the man, and you defending the man was irrelevant to that criticism. BN is not evil. Those who call him incompetent are not saying that he is.

You hate Mullen and attributed, in prior posts, bad motives to him. I don’t. You like BN and attribute good motives to him. I don’t. I judge them on performance. Look at my post and you will see that my negativity about BN is about functional incompetence, not hate. Not sure why you need to defend his character (or attack Mullens or Macelwains)? It is all about performance.

OK. I stand corrected. Some people do hate him. Just like Mullen or Mac. Only guy I personally disliked was Muschamp (Dawg, substituted emotion for intelligence).

A couple of years ago we didn’t want any part of Kiffin’s arrogance and buffoonery but now we’d welcome it. If this keeps up in a year or two we will be pining for Deion.

I draw the line a Dion but losing for so long does create desperation. Kiff could be a bigger embarrassment than any coach so far. Are we that desperate, perhaps.

It’s not just one post Bud. Several - in fact I’ve been surprised that someone who readily takes the high ground on almost any issue would be so fast to assume the worst about the man. He can suck at his job without being some “snake oil salesman” or scam artist as you’ve been suggesting. We can criticize his performance all day long, but attacking his character isn’t right. He’s a good man — and a bad head football coach who reached for the ring and failed. Can’t see the difference?

BTW, you don’t need 4 paragraphs to say ‘I told you so’. And you’re about a month late to that party

He believed to Wilson around was the way to go. He’s wrong but he believes inwhat he’s doing . I know he also can see he is losing. The scoreboard isn’t lost on the guy. He may have already blown his chance to be a ceo coach by overestimating himself. He’s got a lot going for him but he’s his own worst enemy.

I do not know him or any of our coaches personally. Is he “a good man?” Were Mullen/macchamp?

Only you used the word “evil.” BN said “scared money” and “1,000 assistants”. The promises were never close to being fulfilled. It was wrong (or at least a poor choice of words) for me to imply that he lied (snake oil) vs was incompetent. Perhaps some criticism of BN incorrectly bled into the personal, and you’re correct, that is wrong.

If Mullen was the coach at issue and one objected to personal attacks on him, would they be called snowflakes or butt hurt by you or others? Your point would still stand that attacking the character/motives of those you don’t know (coaches and other posters) is not good. That would include not calling people haters for concluding Napier a bad coach (if their comment wasn’t personal but objective).

Yep, that concept of if a coach does unusually well in Mississippi, he will definitely flourish and win it all in a target-rich Florida recruiting area just didn't hold water, did it?
