Anyone remember Antonio Morrison? Jarrad Davis, Duke Dawson, Joey Ivie, Jon Greenard, Matt Elam, Keanu Neal, Vernon Hargreaves? Those guys man. They played like their hair was on fire. They were ready to kill someone every time they lined up.

The players we have are capable of playing the same way. They’re not as talented so the results may not be as good, but they need a coach to light that fire in them. The right leadership. And we just don’t have it. It’s especially important now for all the luxurious amenities we have in our facilities and this social media-influenced generation of young people. Napier has proven REPEATEDLY he can’t do it.

Muschamp and Mullen were one dimensional coaches. Muschamp ruined offense. Mullen ruined the defenses. But at least they could hang their hat on “their” side of the ball.

Napier is a zero dimensional coach. Defense is still almost bottom tier Mullen. The offense he personally oversees isn’t much better.

We gave this guy an extension? LOL. There should be a criminal fraud investigation to explore that.

 

I'm guessing even the Napier critics from the beginning and also those from last year would have never thought we would slide this far down in 3 games in.
As i've said, it's almost out of the playbook from Mel Brooks "The Producers". Fails so badly and you get a big payday. 1 and 11 and he hits the jackpot. 6 and 6 with some close losses he might have to hang around another year before striking gold with the firing.
IMO, his whole time here, culminating right now, is nauseating.

I wrote it after the Miami game, but honestly the benefit of looking so bad again is the absolute crystal clarity that a change is needed. Would a close loss just postpone the inevitable or kindle sparks of optimism? We'll never know because those embers were stomped flat and had a bucket of ice water poured over them. Things are clear and I bet our fanbase is actually united.

 

which one of billy's esteemed army of assistants would get the hopeless and thankless job title of interim coach?

 

I switch up profiles with the seasons. I’m in the Fall/winter zone so I’m going with some peated profiles. Springbank, Bunnahabhain and Bruichladdach
