Vandy is vastly improved with what a first year coach? How can that be? Doesn't it take years to turn things around. My question if it stands what team in the SEC now is worse than UF? Maybe one?
Hope all you want. The best you can wish for Napier is that he earns the dignity to finish the season. I hope he does, too. Tonight’s win against a directional school is a good start. Beating Kentucky should get him to the SWAC game. After that we can all clap him into the sunset as an overmatched man who did the best he could. Just don’t go asking for unreasonable things like a fourth season.
I’m still rooting for Billy. Best case scenario is the team continues to improve and wins some games they are supposed to lose. We have a ton of talent coming back, an incredible quarterback and I think with some stability recruiting can get even better. Do I think that happens? Probably not. Our fan base, particularly the big money boosters, are toxic and are completely happy to blow the entire program out to get their feelings massaged. But one can hope.
Glad we beat UCF. And anybody either eyes sees no progress in the program with BN. I do not get the “he is a good guy” stuff. Lots of good guys will work for $7M/year.
I don't think it's toxic to believe Billy is cooked. The season start was simply disastrous and while the team has improved a bit since then it seems highly likely that it will be too little too late.
Meh he’s started every season decently only to fall flat on his face. He’s not beating any good teams, he sucks against rivals. Let’s see how the season plays out.
Are you speaking of Napier here? I agree in general that he has mostly sucked, but I violently disagree that “he’s started every season decently.” The last two seasons have started disastrously, and 2022 was fool’s gold with a (frankly miraculous) win over Utah but followed up rather quickly by an inexcusable loss at home to Kentucky.
