Do people even watch the game AW was 7/22 with 1 int, in a little over a half of football. How much should he have thrown it.
If you believe we beat uga had DJ stayed healthy, and that win would have saved Napier’s job, don’t you now think he gets another year? If not, I’m just wondering who your replacement would be? Had we won yesterday (w/healthy DJ), something tells me we would have won 3 out of the remaining 4.
I get what you’re saying. He had the end of half series and played from behind, so the numbers are inflated as such. My point was, the plays that were called didn’t seem like the coaches trusted him to throw.
That's all well and good, I would just like to have accurate accounting of what's truly happening. "NIL people wouldn't give Billy money because they think he sucks" is different than "Billy can't get the recruits to come."
I'm tired of the clichés' to describe our situation. You are what your record says you are. Progress must translate to wins. We deserve better than this. Blah blah blah. We are a better team now. Since the A&M loss, I've seen significant improvement in our team. We are motivated, disciplined, prepared and play hard. And the OL and the entire D have made a huge leap. I think a lot of the success was personnel related (playing the right guys) but the coaches are doing a great job making adjustments. Regardless, the coaches and players are committed and have not given up. It shows. Looking ahead: The 2025 roster would be strong if we can convince a few of the juniors to come back (specifically Barber, Slaughter, Moore and Banks) and fend off the poachers for EW3, Mizell, and several on D. We have our QB and a lot of weapons around him. The D would lose Marshall, Cam Jackson and a few others, but there is quality depth behind those guys. If we fire Billy it's another rebuild. If we retain Billy --- he is the best person to keep our roster intact. I don't know how we win with Warner but if we find a way and win one of the next three with him under center, I think we should keep Billy.
it was 20-20 with 5 minutes left in the game. If you don't think that's close you're letting your desire to shit can CBN blind you
Part of the exquisite misery of the injurie(s) and the arguably avoidable loss is now the increased difficulty of using a clear-eyed analysis of the rest of the season as a measuring stick for a fire or don't fire decision. Whatever we do will be a weighted guess with a tricky upside on one hand and a straight shot to football hades on the other. Drama is such fun. GG.
I agree that we have shown drastic improvement since the beginning of the season. What kills me though is why did it take the threat of losing his job to turn things around? Why did we start the season the way that we did? It’s not a stretch to think that we could be 8-0 right now. With decent coaching we are 6-2 at worst. With good coaching we are undefeated.
I can’t help but think this is a lot like Muschamp’s third season where injuries were a legit excuse but then he just sucked again in his fourth season.
I feel that the only reason Napier hasn’t been fired yet is because they don’t have his replacement sorted out yet. If everyone that they are considering are in the playoffs we might have coach for another year.
For the future of Florida football they are the same, no? He has to convince donors to give and he has to convince recruits to come. That’s his job
Good question and one that no one can really answer. I guess it takes time for some coaches to figure out what works, what doesn't work, which players are great in practice and which players turn it up on game day, etc... I feel like Billy has learned a lot over the past three years and I'd like to see UF benefit from his newly acquired wisdom and experience ... rather than him taking that somewhere else. If I can ask for one thing it's an elite pass rusher. Ask #2 is a S that weighs more than 200 lbs.
Maybe tgat 26 mil that has supposedly been collected to fire Napier has to do with why recruiting sucks also. Free up tgat cash into nil and there will be players willing to sign those contracts.
What was the cause of death doctor? Well he had a heart attack, but the plane crash that immediately followed woulda probably did the trick too. Well at least it wasn't the pilots faut then.
