The election betting thread

How is having the polls opened for 24 consecutive hours difficult? Unless you want it to be. Work at night. Vote during the day. Work during the day. Vote at night.

There is no need for early voting unless you are @wgbgator who is apparently too lazy for something as important as voting.

It removes all the scenarios that can be made for abuse outside same day abuse. It provides everyone every chance they need.

Voting should not be about lazy. It is way too important. While I disagree with early voting. I am more comfortable with it than mail in for no reason. But neither should be allowed. 24 hours we all vote (with absentee for the few who can’t make it and prove why). It is the best way to secure the vote properly and give everyone the ability to vote.

 

IMO if you wait until election day you are a procrastinator, so voting cant be all that important to you either. Clearly posting nonsense online is more important to you than getting your ass to polls as soon as possible. I figured all the sweatiest bootlicking right-wingers couldnt wait to vote for their favorite goons.

 

We had this identical discussion on this identical issue, and it is not productive repeating the same arguments. Your argument above is like a cut and paste from the other post. It seems to me nothing I said resonating a week or so ago with you, and so there’s no reason to go back at it.

 

Why don’t you go ahead and vote for 2028. Hate for you to procrastinate. LOL! You really are lazy!

He's not even accurately representing my view, early voting is for suckers who like to go places and wait in lines. That ain't me.

I actually invented "precrastination" in college. After a few years of all nighters writing term papers and self-inflicted stress, I decided I would knock it out weeks ahead of time and screw around while all the other suckers were panicking the day before.

 

You certainly don’t seemed concerned about security and the importance of voting. But to each their own.

 

Ok. Now I need to respond. Because IMO that is a pretty weak point.

Can you tell us a single vote on this ballot that changed from 1 week ago? 2 weeks ago? A month ago?

I think that half this Board could correctly guess your ballot.

I will readily admit I expect our two party system to not change much over the next couple months or even 8 years. But in case it does. We should all vote on one day together!
