What was it called when the opposition was lynching the "woke" people's ancestors? American progress?
That is one of the reasons why Trump is so popular. He made it fashionable to be openly racist. If a country even with its haphazard electoral college system which lets a person who loses the popular vote still somehow get elected president, can put a man like that in office, watch him denigrate the office to lower levels than ANY OTHER PRESIDENT in the history of the United States, watch him obstruct and redact his way out of two impeachments, and still consider re-electing him, it only shows that a large segment of this country is as racist as ever. The problem is a large segment of white America is no longer tolerant (they and perhaps their immediate ancestors were never racists but they tolerated it). As long as the non-racist whites were tolerant of the racist exploits of whites who were and will be racist until the end of time, racist agendas could dictate and effectuate an oppressive control of the economic, political, and social priorities implemented in this nation. Wokeism is a movement that takes an unapologetic approach to expose the humanistic abuses racists have subjected the rest of society to. People want to Make America Great Again, but want to ignore what insidious factors allowed it to rise up to the prominence that it reached and the expense and toll it took on the myriad of citizens who did not truly benefit from its greatness. When people remind such people of the realities of the past, they get branded as socialists, leftist dogs, communists, anti-Americans, and everything else under the book that paints them in a negative light.
This just in: people who refer to women who call the police on some trivial non-incident with black people as "Karens" are being racially insensitive to the Karen people, who live in places like Burma and rarely call the police on anyone. We need to stand up for these people and cancel the racists that keep using their ethnicity as an insult to certain white women. Karen people - Wikipedia Karen woman in traditional attire, 1912
Presuming you’re serious, do you have a better term for referring to the species? Should we just say they’re acting white as a shorthand for stupid privilege? Works for me.
Oh, that makes it ok then. All is cool, continue as you were. Glad to know you want to be lumped in with THAT group from history.
I was just demonstrating how easy it is to offend someone, such that even the most "woke" person could (and would) do it. Obviously, these white women should have been called "Katherines".
@chemgator , I'm glad you brought the Karen Tribes to mind. They are excellent silversmiths and make silver jewelry, silver beads, and other findings for export. Beautiful work. I make leather bracelets decorated with silver Karen Hill Tribe beads and wouldn't think of buying anything else. Excellent quality at less cost than domestically produced sterling. The battle against so-called wokeism really means. One of my proudest moments as a father, which I have recounted here before, is when my then nine-year-old daughter during a trip to Monticello was the only member the tour to be able to answer all of the tour guide's questions about slavery and Sally Hemmings etc. But obviously this guy, and presumably the Fox audience, thinks it should be either ignored or severely discounted and hardly mentioned. If it wasn't for DNA evidence, it would still be denied
Clearly, people from Tibet know that the term as it is used in America is not referring to them nor is it or should it be offensive to them since as you pointed out, they are not the ignoramuses deserving the title.
BTW, this is one of the guys who wrote Ron Paul's racist newsletter. So Fox is burying the lede in describing him lol.
All it takes is one Tibetan Karen living in the United States, and you have a hostile environment created by apparent racists who need to be defeated at all costs. Right?
