I have to confess the symbolism went right by me. I just thought that it was another entertaining dance numbers with the dancers representing various LGBT types. On the other hand I'm really not obsessed with LGBT persons.
And one of those bad decisions is supporting liberal causes and voting democrat. By their late 20s the intelligent folks realize the mistakes they made in their late teens and early 20s and change, embracing conservative ideals. Those that don’t….. well ….. spend their days deciding on a gender and creating new pronouns.
That seems petty and trolling, and also seems like it undermines efforts for those groups actually trying to find acceptance in the world to deliberately spit in the eye of Christians, many of whom undoubtedly persecute them, but also many of whom support their efforts for equality and acceptance.
The Last Supper was a da Vinci painting if memory serves. I do not see how that is connected to anything French.
It is a da Vinci work. da Vinci is tied into the French crown. He was working in Milan when it was captured by the French and was sent to France to work for the French royals after that for the remainder of his life. It is a pretty loose connection, especially as the original remains in Milan.
Me too. My thought is WT# is wrong with these people? It personally doesn’t offend me, I could give two shits but what are people thinking to create stuff like this? It seems intentionally antagonistic and otherwise is just bizarre. Then again it’s the French so should we expect any less?
If Usain Bolt wants to steal the show, all he's gotta do is put on a yellow wig and enter the heptathlon.
Last supper? Are you kidding me? Just saw this in NBC broadcast of the opening ceremony. That's not a dinner table, it's a fashion show runway. The fat woman in blue.... Has a DJ turntable in front of her. People just looking for stuff to get upset about....
So who made these creative choices? Any Americans? Would be great if we could just blame this on the French.
It was the last supper too. The irony here is no heathen would have ever noticed. Likely only people familiar with the last supper would have noticed and not even all of them. But I’m sure a lot of those who did were offended. It’s not cool. The Olympics is about global inclusivity. At best it was incredibly tone deaf. At worst intentionally inflammatory. Lots of Catholics in multiple continents watching this. It’s just unnecessary.
