FYI the OBJ catch was from a regular season Sunday Night Football game against the Cowboys. The Giants actually lost.
It is probably the most impressive 1 hand catch I’ve seen (including the OBJ catch), just because it was a BACKHANDED 1 hand catch with the ball already past him (so he literally had to snatch it back with 1 hand to get possession), and he also did this in heavy traffic where he knew he’d be hit. The other similar catches everyone thinks of were more “jump ball” situations, not with the WR being led into a hit. I do wonder if this catch would have been possible without the targeting rules or against an SEC defense, because really that safety could/should have layed him out and popped the ball loose.
Correct me if wrong, but wasn't that catch Giants vs. Cowboys? If yes, it wasn't the Superbowl. Edit: @staticgator beat me to it.
I saw this earlier but forgot to post it. Thanks to @Gatorrick22 for sending it to me and reminding me to make sure everyone gets to see it:
They’ve embedded a really small glimpse of it The Catch now on the SEC Nation intro song, “Take the Party Wherever we Go”
