It really doesn't matter. Trump and DeSantis could be serial killers and it wouldn't make what Biden is doing okay or more justifiable.

At least the OP had the stones to admit his political preference did something morally wrong. Shudder the thought.

 

On my scale of disappointment, I'd put this at a 2 or 3.

Pretty "Meh!" and certainly wouldn't stop me from voting for him again.

 

My gut feeling. But, please, let's don't hijack the thread to that. The subject of the grandchild is interesting enough.

 

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden on Friday for the first time publicly acknowledged his seventh grandchild, a 4-year-old girl fathered by his son Hunter with an Arkansas woman, Lunden Roberts, in 2018.

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” Biden said in a statement. It was his first acknowledgment of the child.

“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter,” he said.

How so, except for OAN talking about it daily? Where are the Bush twins? The Obama girls? Chelsea? The Reagan kids? Etc.

You have to actively search them out to see if they are even still with us. They can TRY to keep a “spotlight” like the one Little Reagan did for a while (don’t know where he is today either.) But otherwise they are in the “Where are they now” clickbait ads.

 

And those are kids - not grandkids. Trump, for example, has 10 grandchildren. I doubt most Americans could name one or pick one out of a lineup. Same for other presidents.

 

I don’t know all the details but it seems to me the right thing, as well as the politically favorable thing, to embrace the new grandchild - whether that’s what Hunter wants or not. Most Americans understand family situations are tough and not all family members are saints. The only people who care about Hunter Biden’s escapades are the ones that won’t vote for Biden either way.

 

We may not know all of the details of this case. Maybe the mother has tried to hit up grandpa in the past for cash payments in exchange for her not going public with the baby or something like that. You never know. High profile people like that typically do not air out all of the details on a case like this, because it just brings additional attention on something they do not want highlighted, because it distracts from the other things in their life that they do want highlighted.

 

While most of the post is speculation the first sentence says it all. We do not know and may never know the details of the case. As another poster mentioned in the other thread on the same subject, the people who are most critical of Joe Biden on the subject of his granddaughter are people who would not vote for him under any circumstances and are using the relationship as another vehicle to attack him.
