John Bonham essentially invented hard rock drumming. Undisputed GOAT

Hmmmmm……. I think I mostly agree. Bonomassa does trigger some emotion in me. The others? We’re on the same page. I don’t own any of their music. And none of them, including Van Halen, have ever been on my playlists.

Definitely agree here. Pat Metheny is probably one of my Top 5 favorite guitarists. Highly proficient technically. But, very emotional music imo.

Lmao…..y’all are talking me out of including Van Halen on my list. I think I’m going back to amend it.

Call me crazy but a personal top 10 should probable have bands you like, not ones you simply respect musically but arent into.

Throwing the challenge flag on that one. We used to call them GreatWhiteLionSnake. If we could have figured out how to get the Scorpions in there we would have.

That album/tour? It was pretty much a rock and roll all star team.

Vai is a legend. Aldridge is a legend.
Sarzo is considered by some as one of the best "for hire" bassist.

I mean to even put them in the same category with one (two?) hit wonders like White Lion is criminal. Them fightin' words!

    Gotcha.

I cant stand Roth. I find him to be a selfish prick. But i have always loved their music. Michael Anthony's voice is the stuff of legends and he is the unheralded key to bridging between Roth and Hagar.

It would take a while, but I could do it. I scanned your Ranker list of the 250 best bands. Lot's of omissions in there for me. But I'm not big on making lists of my favorite things -- bands, albums, movies, whatever. Because for me that changes from day to day and mood to mood.

    So happy to hear this!

Halen's awesome! If YOU liked them, it might taint my appreciation of them ever so slightly....

Eddie Van Halen, Bruce Springsteen, Clarence Clemmons, Sammy Hagar. Steven Tyler, Paul Stanley, Joe Perry, Alex Van Halen, and Tim McGraw--in that order--are the best live performers in their respective roles, of all the shows I've seen.

Edit--(J/k about you being able to taint my appreciation, or that I'm actually glad about your inability to appreciate genius and then boast about it...).
