Webb Mia?!? True freshman behind seasoned Johnson and All-star Ettienne does not make him Mia. He filled in nicely as the #2 back when Ettienne was out nursing an injury. I look for some great play out of Webb as he progresses.
I disagree. This a run based offense, going into the season with less then 5 is dangerous. Especially where most in the SEC carry atleast 6-7.
Most carry 6-7 Scholarship rb’s? We currently have 8 rb’s on the roster. We’re likely to lose two of them. We’re bringing in at least one scholarship rb to replace the one leaving. We’ll likely replace the walk-on too, with another walk on.
Most SEC teams do not carry 6-7 scholarship RB's, not sure where you got that notion. I'm not sure UF has had that many since we ran the wishbone in 73 FYI, UF scholarship RB's have 176 carries to date. UF has thrown 234 passes. I would say we are a balanced offense rather than run based.
Yea, 6-7 is not a real number. Looking at SEC rosters most actually have 8, but only 3 or 4 are actually scholarship. In fact, UF has 8 RB's on the roster including non-scholarship.
Pretty sure Napier mentioned he prefers having 5 scholarship RBs during NSD press conference last year.
All I’m saying is if he has any aspirations of getting in the league, in whatever playing capacity that is, his small window of opportunity is going to be tiny after another year.
Webb has been playing and playing well when given the opportunity. The only Mia is him getting the opportunity.
We lost a commit and offered another so I’d say yes. Not sure if they are set on taking two or not. I’d guess it may depend on who wants in and the spots available.
Because a back up, rehabbed, 5th year SR(Carroll) has very little NIL value. Maybe $1000 or $2000 a month if that.
Our current RB commit is ranked #28 and Bowens, who rose to top 10 status when he committed to UGA, is now at #35. https://247sports.com/Season/2024-Football/RecruitRankings/?InstitutionGroup=highschool&Position=RB
I don't know if he does have any value there either. Could he remain injury free and catch onto a team, maybe. More likely XFL, CFL. This is his second season ending injury and another medical RS would grant him a 7th year. My comment was more to say that I do not think he has any real NIL value in college. Not enough to live on anyway. As for education. He was a grad transfer from Tulane. So he has to be in a Masters program.
