I did not notice Henshall getting added to our list of targets. Another intriguing prospect, who has played professionally in Australia and New Zealand. Recruiting Target–Australian Ben Henshall | GatorCountry.com
And Henshall by accounts is coming to the US looking for a route to the NBA. And he just watched Condon basically follow the path he wants to take. Very strong potential here for an overall backcourt upgrade. Which would be legendary considering the backcourt we just had.
I would love to see us get a backcourt upgrade, but I think the realistic chances of that happening are very small. Hope, and expect, growth from our frontcourt but expect to take a step back in the backcourt
That trio of Clayton, Richard and Martin was lightning in a bottle. Those guys were mature, experienced, jelled together on and off the court, complimented each other's games and were just 3 tough dudes who got better and better as a unit as the season went along. To have a backcourt that's even close to those 3 guys would be amazing. Aberdeen is one solid piece and I'm interested to see how Golden fits the other pieces together.
Henshall sounds like he has a Will Richard game. Come on up, mate. Aberdeen is probably heir apparent to one of the guard spots. Klavzar might be ready for a starting job too, maybe at the 1, maybe at the 2. Isaiah Brown will probably step into the regular rotation at guard. If his brother joins him, Big Bro might be in the starting group. Lee sounds good enough to start on the first day. I don't think our starting guards will match this season's, but then, no team's guards could. So I think we're good. The next week or two of portal news will be verrry interesting for us.
On my Zoom Bible study last night (only Gator - duh - lots of Vols) they were chatting about getting a guy from Vanderbilt. I just sat and then one said, "Well, we can't all be Gators." I smiled quietly to myself. They can smell what's cooking down in Gainesville....
Living in the suburbs of Nashville, I texted a couple of my daughters friends who are great Tennessee fans after the SEC Championship, they said when they were behind, he knew they couldn't deny Florida. The SEC championship, basically another home game for the VOLS. Subdued!
Henshell, Brown, Lee, Lindsay. Notice anything similar about these targets? I'm guessing the staff is liking what they're hearing from our front court players.
Apparently in the mix for Cedric Coward, 6'6" guard/wing from WSU. Got hurt Sr year. Probably looking for a 1 year payday and will try to improve himself for the league.
