There won't be a civil war. If you actually disagree, spell out how you think it could happen. Rioting here n there, and mad ass posting on line...are a far cry from anything resembling CW.
I could have never predicted the January 6th riot at the Capitol, so I won’t pretend to know how it’s going to unfold in 2024, but I can see and feel the ante being raised, tensions simmering and especially if Trump wins, there will be more than a few protests here and there. Don’t let the others delude you into thinking that sort of thing only happens within MAGA.
January 6th was a bull invited into a China shop. Trump asked for national guard to be brought in, and was denied (Pelosi's call). Trap set, Trump walked right into it, a d failed to do anything to stop it after sprung. ...but so what? What happened happened, and lo n behold, Biden still became president. Was that ever, for a second, actually in jeopardy? No. I just don't see any real possibility for anything resembling a CW.
This century, Gore, Kerry, McCain, Romney, and Hillary all formally conceded their losses. Trump never will - even after his 60+ losses in the courts, some of which presided over by judges he appointed. He even accused Ted Cruz of fraud in the Iowa primary! Trump never admits defeat. It wasn’t even partisan before him at least to this extent.
Both Gore and Clinton had to be pushed by others around them to admit defeat. Obama had to call Hillary and tell her to concede, because she refused to. Don’t get too high minded, thinking the right is the only side that could do such a thing.
I don’t think many people see a CW breaking out years in advance. But all the elements are there or building. Abortion, right the bear arms, free speech, censorship by big tech, big pharma and their lies. Firearm purchases have been surging. I don’t want anything like a CW here in the States, but Fitch’s credit downgrade happened why? In part, due to the looming threat of political turmoil. And before the idiots pile on and blame that on Trump, it wasn’t MAGA burning down those buildings, throwing rocks through windows and mobbing through the streets of (insert city name of your choice). Both sides are near equally to blame.
No doubt. Has Fox News taken some breaks on the Hunter B stories to indulge their minions' fantasies about civil war? It's yet another odd fascination. Regardless - I predict that neither Trump nor Biden will be the next prez and I'm sure as hell not hoping for Desi, but the minions will jump on his bandwagon once Trump is out of the picture.
Hillary continued to point out Russia’s efforts and did complain about that but she didn’t make up stats about dead voters. She also formally conceded her loss the day after the election. Gore conceded after the Court’s ruling. Read Hillary Clinton's Concession Speech for the 2016 Election Hillary Clinton conceded defeat in the 2016 presidential election on Wednesday morning, calling on her supporters to give Donald Trump “an open mind and the chance to lead.” A day after her supporters gathered beneath a glass ceiling at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, she addressed a smaller crowd of staff and supporters in a ballroom at the New Yorker Hotel. Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta appeared without Clinton at her election night rally, announcing that she would wait to speak until all votes were counted.
She blamed a foreign adversary, which was a complete joke. If shit posting on Facebook is “election interference”, then we have some work to do in our own backyard. Oh yeah, that Wiki leaks thing. Well maybe you shouldn’t be colluding against your primary opponents and the email leaks would have been a big yawn for all of us, but you were indeed colluding against your own.
Huh? She couldn’t have stopped it. The Speaker of the House has no authority over state National Guard activations. Can’t call them up and can’t send them away. DC is an anomaly in which the National Guard is commanded directly by the President of the United States. It’s the only National Guard in the 54 states and territories like this. He could have sent them before, during, or after and it’s his discretion.
Just like his fanboys never admit when he does anything wrong. They can't even muster up the courage to admit his wrongdoings on January 6th LOL
After the damage was already done, and after he was pressured to do so. He shouldn’t have sent them there in the first place, though.
There will be no civil war. But it will indeed be an apocalypse, "the end of times" for American democracy, if the Republicans' deified gangster and traitor wins. What other outcome could there be? He will have four years to finish the job he started but failed to accomplish. Too many Americans today would rather have fascism than the hassle of democracy. Trump is just the POS to give it to them and they know it, which is why every crime is a climb in the polls.
