Pullin and Samuel played with the most focus and toughness we've had here at UF since our championship teams. Kudoes to them for helping Golden create a winning culture! Really hope they both get a shot in the NBA so they can follow their dreams!
I remember reading Kurt Vonnegut's Player Piano many years ago. Takes place in the near future. IIRC, there's a scene where they're sitting in a bar, and there's a dude there who plays ball for the local university. The dude is like 30 years old, and paid handsomely. I thought, "that'll never happen." But we're close to that now, and it only takes one idiot judge to rule that a school can't limit the number of years a school can employ the players. That would be a gross violation of their rights, after all.
ZP and “Rese” will go down in Florida basketball history as part of the restorative elements of the program along with the rest of this year’s team. A standard has been reset. Expectations have been reset. Pride and passion have been reset. The way these two players delivered night after night after night facing the uphill battle of obscurity that had begun to plague our program in the last decade is truly remarkable. All could see the change in the officiating which used to almost always result in a predominantly anti-Florida outcome shift ever so slightly in our direction. This in my opinion was due primarily to the noticeable talent and work ethic that these two young men and others brought to the court each and every game. I wish them both the best on the next level of their encounters.
