They should have called me. :D
My life has been made by having attended UF. I'm a Brit working directly with the NCAA and US Pro Sport, almost exclusively because of it.
    Boo, the rankings.

Chances are that the other in state schools are offering significant scholarships if you have a 1400 SAT score whereas UF gives nothing. This based on my two daughters (and their friends) recent college entrance acceptances. I know a few that have chosen FSU over UF for the $24,000 scholarship supplement.

We would have gotten hit on reputation, I think those surveys went out in the spring and early summer, when Sasse was all over TV promoting how great we were handing the protests. Next year might be a better barometer, his resignation, the tenure dispute, the loss of faculty will all be factored in. On the flip side, maybe Fuchs will have calmed the noise down somewhat by next spring as well. But we need a BOT that’s beholden to the school and not the governor. Until that changes we aren’t going back up.

some rankings put a lot more emphasis on costs than quality. our costs remain real low on a relative basis so the impact of losing so many good professors and the lack of freedom for the professors doesn't impact the cost
