Since when does anyone have to answer questions from someone who won't produce a single link to justify his comments. No propaganda will be responded to, legitimate articles only. BTW, this is a war on wokeism. I fully support the governor and the legislature in this effort. Sometimes you are going to have to get dirty fighting a war. I know Disney didn't break the law and I don't care. Keep their woke views in California as they don't play here in Florida. They damn well got what they deserved and a lot more with the drop in value of the Disney Corporation and their failed woke movies. If I were a large stockholder in Disney, I'd be leading the charge to throw the woke bums out.
In red states in which they control the governor and legislature, they will follow Florida's lead. Florida is the new California. California? People are leaving in large numbers. No one with any conservative and family values wants to live in Cheatifornia/Commiefornia.
They can't force their views on anybody. They are private entities choosing who they personally want to do business with. What you want to do is force your views on them with government. "Outsiders." You mean investors? Again, the only one looking to use government force here is you and DeSantis. You are the one pushing government mandates.
So now you are admitting that you are for using the government to dictate the views of others? So much for being for freedom and not having outsiders force their views on others.
Since I'm having to choose between an unelected woke corporation mandate or a state of Florida mandate, I'll go with my elected leaders. It's called democracy although you will refuse to admit this. So, you have no problem with what PayPal did in Florida and in Canada? If so, you are part of the woke crowd that has to be beaten at the ballot box every time. I can assure you that neither myself nor DeSantis has the minority status you so richly deserve anywhere except on this board. Have you thought about living some where you can be happier? California was advertising for people like you to move there. They may even help pay you for the move.
No, because I actually value freedom. If you don't like their business strategies, you can invest in them to try to change their policies, lobby for them to change their policies as a potential customer, or form a competitor with different policies. You know, free market solutions. You don't run whining to the government to enforce your will on them. Not unless you are an authoritarian that doesn't actually value freedom. Yes, you do not value freedom and want to enforce your will on others to believe what you do with government mandates. We know.
Yes, I am. As I just said above, given the choice of an unelected woke corporation mandate or a state of Florida mandate, I choose the mandate made by the elected leaders of Florida.
Yep, in case you missed it, I agreed to this over the weekend. Disney can go to blazes for all I care. Clear enough for you?
Corporations can't mandate anything, only choose who and how they individually want to do business. You are choosing big government above the free market.
We know? You have a frog in your pocket. What is the name of this "we" group? Say it as we America First republicans know well just exactly what you are.
So you think government should be dictating people's beliefs to them? Congratulations, you are the big government authoritarian.
"We" as in people reading your posts here. You don't value freedom and want the government to tell people what their beliefs should be and punish those that don't have your beliefs for no reason other than they don't match your beliefs. Freedom is not a catch phrase, even though you appear to be using it as one to back authoritarianism.
The woke corporations damn sure can when they discriminate against and censor everything they don't agree with. You have yet to answer whether you agree with what PayPal did in Florida and in Canada. No, they aren't forcing their views on anyone. BS, it is a woke mandate by unelected people. Just give their damn service and leave the rest to the people so long as no laws are being broken. I do draw the line there.
Yes, you have made it very clear that you are willing to use government force to punish those you disagree with. I find that to be downright un-American, but you do you.
They have no ability to censor. They are not the government. And, again, you always have the free market options open to you. But those aren't good enough, so you choose big government to enforce your will on others. I agree with their right to do it. Because I believe in freedom and don't think it is my role as an "outsider" to decide who PayPal does business with. As an outsider, you apparently think it is your role. If you don't want to use their service because you don't like their policies, then don't. See, no mandate. And you didn't have to turn into an authoritarian to make it happen.
Don't like my views, tough shit. I already stipulated I'm in the minority here, not alone by a big stretch, as you are in the voting minority here in Florida. I'll gladly take being in the voting majority. Now, that's democracy. Don't like it, try winning elections.
Answered above in this post, but again, elected leaders over unelected woke corporations is democracy. PayPal can find plenty of business elsewhere. In a free market, someone who isn't choosing wokeism can take PayPals place in Florida and all of the other red states that are going to follow Florida's lead.
Funny thing is that your views would be abhorrent to people who actually favor freedom. You think getting a majority means that you can use government to dictate to other people what their views must be. You think might makes right. Like all authoritarians.
You don't favor free markets. A free market solution would be to say "PayPal has beliefs and I disagree, let me protest against them, use my own freedom of expression to convince them that they are wrong, invest in them and get them to change policies, or form a competitor." You are in favor of running to big government crying about how they were mean to you and asking them to punish them for not having your beliefs.
