It is different because the ones banning usually are the ones complaining kids don’t understand the government.

Or, to frame it differently, what problem did this solve exactly? Ted Cruz can’t roam the border in fatigues because of all the time he commits to answering 16 year-olds?

This is not a problem to fix. Not one that exists in a functioning republic.

If anything, this runs counter to that whine also. It is true. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn really do make decisions for 30 MILLION people. Including HSers. You need exactly TWO people to vote your preference.

So the “problem” is the kids’ emails? Ignore them, like they do all others they don’t like.

What harm is it that teenagers participate in the process, including being dismissed with prejudice, like almost all other communications?

If I were of the persuasion that public schools exist merely to indoctrinate very specific world views I would enter this as evidence.

Understood. I'm not really either. Just making the point that it could be seen that way.

Understand that all of these types of legislation are intended to “chill” teachers not only at school but also within their communities.

I think it’s fairly obvious that a significant number of Americans want complete state control by one party only, some more iron fisted than others, with some, like Tilly equivocating constantly. The purpose of the law is obvious to any 9th grader, and to pussyfoot around trying to justify it is jut sophistry.
