He should prosecute any doctor that does not do their job and kills a child for convenience. Cox's doctor clearly felt the mothers life was not in jeopardy.

Stop making crap up about the law and decisions. It is not hard for a doctor to note the reasons for the procedure. And if they are killing a child for convenience. Then it would be illegal. I personally believe we should protect the most innocent. Maybe you do not...

I think if the mothers life is in danger it is up to the mother and those she wants to discuss the matter with to make a terrible decision. Thankfully this hardly ever happens. The life being viable has nothing to do with the decision. Your life began at conception. At that point you have developed to who you are today. Sadly some lives die way too young. Even inside their mother. But reality is...You are not concerned about the Life. But you want to allow the brutal killing of the most innocent for convenience.

No one has pushed a law that does not protect the mothers life in the very rare circumstance that is an issue. Well there may be a few out there trying to but they have no chance and they should not. If the mother life is in jeopardy then it is a terribel rare situation for the mother/family/doctor/friends to work through. But spare us the idea this is some common event and spare us the idea that there are laws preventing the mother from getting the procedure is their life is in danger.

On what grounds are you not pro abortion? I bet you voted for folks based on the hope that they would facilitate the ending of Roe v. Wade. Is that right? Well, abortions are up since the fall of Roe. Seems pretty pro abortion to me.

But, here's the important thing. Why did you think getting rid of Roe would make abortions decrease? Or did you even care? What evidence did you have???? Any? Or, was it just your feelings?

Experience is not how morals are determined. There are many things you will go to jail for immediately, and you don't get a "get out of jail free card" because you didn't have the proper experience to know what you did was wrong. You don't need experience to know something is wrong. Abortion is the killing of the innocent, which is murder.

In fact experience often works the opposite way. Often times the conscience is weaker towards a form of evil when it indulges a form of evil. That is what happens with serial killers, pedophiles, the class whore, the alcoholic, etc. You do something wrong, and it becomes easier to do the wrong thing the next time. Eventually, you are indulging evil all the time asking yourself, "What did I do wrong?" That is what an abortion doctor is: a serial killer who has killed again, and again, and again until they have no conscience.

Now having said that, you are talking about a very very small number of abortions in the US when the life of the mother is in danger. In those cases, I believe the decision is between that person, their doctor, and the God who will judge their collective decision. Both lives are of equal value and worth, and the life of the mother is the only consideration that would make an abortion justified.

I clicked on the link you referenced above and then went to the actual journal article referenced in that link. In the comments, one person provides some calculations as a check on what the article asserts. The journal article assertions are most likely wildly inflated.

    Christina Land, Biomed & Statistics
Let's say for instance, we go by the figure of 450,000 estimated rapes of females per year [this number is three times the reported number, to account for unreported rapes]. Let's assume that 80% of these rapes are of women of childbearing age. That leaves 360,000.

According to CDC.gov, 64.9% of women of childbearing age use hormonal contraceptives, leaving 35.1% not using, or 126,360 of these victims. Women on average are fertile for 3 days out of an average 28 day menstrual cycle. So 10% of the time, or 12,636 women.

Couples trying for a baby take on average at least a year to succeed. So let's call that a 9% chance of a pregnancy each month, so approximately 1137.

The estimated number of rape-related pregnancies per year, based on your estimate of 450,000 rapes of women per year, is much closer to 1,000 than 65,000.

This article asserts 26,313 rape-related pregnancies in Texas during the 16 months. Prorating that for one year, the rape-related pregnancies would be roughly 20k per year.

Texas had an estimated total 13,509 rape offenses in 2020. That would mean that not only does every single rape result in a pregnancy, every rape results in almost one and a half pregnancies.

I don’t have much confidence in the numbers in that study conducted by Planned Parenthood.

You belong to the species Homo sapiens. It's one of nearly 800,000,000 species currently on the planet. (The number who have ever existed and are now extinct is incalculable.) You are not special except to your loved ones.

If you want govern your life according to writings from as early as 1450 BC, with the NT being put together by various authors between the first and second centuries CE, have at it but, please, don't sit there all smug and self-righteous and presume to dictate to others how they should govern theirs. The harm and headache you and other narrow-minded evangelical CINO's cause others is despicable.

Women are being told they must be very close to death before doctors are willing to deal with a problematic pregnancy out of fear of running afoul of these new laws. In one case, a woman ended up unable to have any more kids due to the damage that waiting for treatment caused.

Do you consider every rape results in almost 1.5 pregnancies to be a “fact?” That’s what their assertion requires.

As evidence that Cox's doctor felt the mother's life was in jeopardy, she went to the courts and successfully obtained a court order allowing the abortion to go forward because it was medically as determined by her doctor.

Why are you so willfully ignorant of anything that challenges your beliefs?

I thought the number to be alarming too, but let's not rely upon info from the comments section of an online article.

Why not? She lays out the calculations and assumptions. It should be very easy to challenge them if they are not accurate. She also gives her real name, not something like Bonehead265.

I’m not saying her assumptions and calculations are correct. I merely posted it to provide a check because some here will readily accept the article numbers without question. Not you, of course. :)
