Hundreds of violations occurred in Tennessee football program over 3 seasons - NCAA.org The 18 level one infractions were from their previous investigation. There are no details for this new investigation.
I hope Tennessee gets some huge penalties, but to be honest, who understands what the NIL rules really are. Supposedly tNIL can't be used as inducements to recruits but that is what everyone is doing. It's a big ole cluster.
I stand corrected! Some think this has something to do with Quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Tennessee says it is unware of any new NIL infractions. We shall see.
NCAA doing what it does best - selectively looking into southern schools and turning a blind eye to the actions of their ‘blue blood’ favorites
Appears as if trying to establish control of the narrative. "Repeat offender" and "lack of institutional control" are UcheaT's biggest worries. Maybe that fake nonsense "investigation" to avoid paying Pruitt's buyout will be a lot more expensive in the end.
That's an outstanding letter. Wonder why Ole Matt Baker didn't make a FOIA request to Sasse? Is our guy responding similarly or at all? I love that part where she implicitly indicated that lawyers would be involved if this goes forward. I hope she copied Mr. Greg Sankey. As much as I would love the see UT get skull-drug by the NCAA similar to what happened at UF in 1984, its time that the SEC threw its weight around a bit and told the NCAA to stop targeting its programs or there would soon be a SCAA for them to contend with and I doubt it would take much convincing for other major conferences to tag along too.
I hope we stand up to the NCAA. There were no rules, no guidance from the NCAA about how to handle NIL. And it is comically absurd to think that the collectives arrange deals with players without involvement of coaches and others at the schools. How else would they know who to target, who to pay?
Florida Gators football under NCAA Investigation "We have been and will continue to cooperate with the NCAA," Florida spokesman Steve McClain said. Looks like we are going to roll over instead of telling them to pound sand.
