Got it. Yes. I had forgotten the nuance. Has Cheney found a single Republican on any ballot in any district or state that she endorsed? Hmmm. Oath of office or political views compel her for those endorsements?

They also gave us Hillary Clinton in 2016, which gave us Donald Trump. Can we ever repay them?

We have our differences on some issues. But this is really good. We probably see a few things from a different perspective but the overall point being made is really good.

    Excellent Post!

Interestingly enough, if you go to private school your kids may or may not get civic education. If they go to a public school they are required to take civics in middle school and US government in HS. Click on the appropriate grade level/course to see specific standards.

    Search Standards | CPALMS.org
Edit to add:I’m sure Georgia has a similar site.

The reason they did was neither, and it's explained in the story.

My son took it as a freshman, 5 years ago. He said that most of his class struggled or just didn't care about separation of powers.

That you-know-who found that “funny” gives you an idea what kind of shape America is in. Heaven help us.

That Q praised your post is astonishing since he’s emblematic of the problem.

I have four that graduated from Seminole County Public Schools. Some of the top schools, in fact. They had the courses mentioned above, but they weren’t taught what should have been taught. I believe my daughters used to say that they “kind of liked it because it wasn’t hard and all they talked about was current events”. US history also lacked much, if not all Constitutional history that was taught at least into the early 80’s when my younger brother graduated.

I can tell you for certain that all they know about our system of government came from Ms. Aging and myself. It started when my oldest daughter got her first career paycheck and choked on the withholding. I told her to not feel bad. Her mother and I paid more in Federal Income Tax then she made.

Thanks. I really had to wonder when he said they had stopped teaching it.

This is spot on. My oldest daughter just graduated highschool. Youngest is a junior this year. They continually speak/spoke of how disturbingly left every teacher is about politics

You should have had them take AP courses. They are plenty challenging.

I think our schools (including major universities) fail even worse at teaching basic personal financial literacy than they do civics.

Lol. Sure. That’s what it is. It can’t just be that majority of teachers are left.

LMFAO! The TDS is like a drug addiction.

    Yeah, who wants world peace...
The best unemployment numbers in all demographics in forever across the board, save the woman, that worked in WW11.
    Energy independence
Israel and Middle East peace deals made in the WH, because of DJT.
Right to try experimental drugs that may save our lives.
The TAX-FREE, Favored Nations EO, that would have lowered all medicines to American including insulin.
    Stronger military.
    No war in The Ukraine.
    Less crime.
    Little to NO inflation.
    Secure boarders.

Yeah, that "nasty" old Donald John Trump... I can see why some people would hate what he did for America and Americans.

By the way, we've always been a patriotic country that was proud to take millions of foreigners into our land and let them add to our couture. When I was young there was NO debate about the Pledge of Allegiance that you backwardly call "indoctrination." Only a communist would call 'Americanizing' people into our country, and the pledge... as indoctrination.'

Yes, we need to bring back the real civics courses into our schools...

My school has two levels of “VA and US Government”, AP Government, various clubs and SGA, Model UN, and likely stuff I am not aware of. My previous school (different county) had the same.
