I don't really know, but maybe the 23 players who opted out would feel that way. To the bigger point, this may be one of the few bowl games that's worthy (i.e. not meaningless). The finish sure appeared to be exciting.

Had it despite themselves until they didn’t on that last Clemson drive Looked like the only time they rushed more than 3 they got a sack/intentional grounding call. Then 3rd and 17…rush 3 drop 8 and leave someone wide open.

Just watched the 4th quarter. What a great job of clock management and playing calling in Clemsons winning drive.

Wonder how many of those 23 now regret it? Maybe not, but there’s been some good games so far. Arizona-Oklahoma last night, Clemson-Kentucky today, and Ohio State-Missouri on now looking to be a tussle.

None of 'em regret it. They don't give a shit about much other than their NIL, potential playtime time elsewhere, and what kind of Xbox they got for Christmas from their new team.
AZ/OK had 24 opt outs. 29 opt outs in the Cotton Bowl, 17 of them for Ohio St, which is w/o its QB, star WR, and two corners. Forgive me for being cynical, but this bowl season is the biggest facade ever for DI football.

It was, and the players had the poise to manage that drive to perfection. That’s also coaching
