They're choosing to call BS on it as a political stunt (poke in the eye/in your face to conservatives). But that doesn't change what the law actually says, and why--which is laid out nicely (imho) here: Did Tim Walz Really Put Tampons In The Boys Bathroom?
No one really gives a crap if crazy leftists want to put tampons in boys' bathrooms for mentally ill women who think they are dudes. We actually do care, but it's not an issue we lose sleep over. It does have an impact on the issues we lose sleep over, like an open border, inflation, and national debt. What you need to understand is that people who make decisions to put tampons in the boys' restrooms make bad decisions overall because they are nuts. If you are making poor decisions like putting tampons in boys' bathrooms, you are not making any good decisions for the border, inflation, or national debt. This is why we have to point out the insanity. Tampon Tim is a nut.
Sure, and I chuckled at it. You crowned yourself winner--yay for you! Give yourself a participation trophy while you're at it.
Glad the school district seemingly has more sense than the Legislature and Governor, but they’re likely putting themself at substantial litigation risk if someone wanted to sue them. The federal civil rights lawsuits that got filed against Florida for our bathroom laws all alleged that forcing transgender people to use gender neutral bathrooms was not a reasonable accommodation and was instead stigmatizing and forced them to choose between avoiding using the restroom in public entirely or sending the unwanted message that they were less male than men (as well as various arguments about gender neutral bathrooms not being sufficiently available, etc.). And I don’t think it’s terribly hard to write the legal argument that what the district is doing doesn’t comply with the law since tampons available anywhere other than restrooms are irrelevant (because the law specifically requires them to be available in restrooms) and because single-user gender neutral restrooms either aren’t “regularly used by students” or don’t make them available to “all menstruating students” if any allege (as the Florida lawsuits did) that they’re entitled to refuse to use gender-neutral restrooms.
Minnesota law requires some single user gender-neutral bathrooms in schools ... seems like a good compromise considering all the other issues that go along with it and a great place for some tampon dispensers. I'm not sure why those bathrooms wouldn't be considered "regularly used by students" if students regularly use them. I prefer signal user restrooms, especially if I have to take a dump. Hopefully the stupidity we endure in Florida doesn't make it to other states.
How unbelievably cruel it is to make fun of someone who wanted to ensure ALL students have access to necessary sanitary products. I can't imagine what went sideways in their lives' developmental stages that caused this. Are these the same people that tortured/killed small animals as children? That's how Dahmer, Bundy and Berkowitz got started. Why Do Serial Killers Usually Abuse Animals at an Early Age?
I never did understand that deal. In HS the football players all dressed up like girl cheerleaders for the “powder puff” game. They always went over the top with chest stuffing. Never knew how that tradition got started.
CNN says they surveyed 12 School districts, and a 13th responded to a different story, and all of them opted to only put tampons in girls bathrooms and single user gender neutral stalls... This includes responses from both rural and major city districts... See, the common sense solution that we all knew was possible prevailed https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/16/politics/fact-check-trump-walz-minnesota-schools-tampons/index.html
So after 9 pages of stupid, we have learned two things. Maga will take stupid stuff out of context and try making it a big deal but ultimately fail. Also, Vance is a cross dresser.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/16/politics/fact-check-trump-walz-minnesota-schools-tampons/index.html A variety of Minnesota public school districts say they do not provide tampons in boys’ bathrooms — debunking a claim former President Donald Trump has been making about Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential candidate. Facts First: Trump’s claims are false. Walz didn’t order Minnesota schools to put tampons in boys’ bathrooms or sign a bill requiring tampons to be put in all boys’ bathrooms. That’s not what the bill signed by Walz in 2023 actually says — and it’s not how the 15 Minnesota school districts that spoke to CNN on Friday say they have implemented the law All 15 of the districts that responded Friday to a CNN survey of 25 districts, including the Minneapolis and St. Paul districts in the state’s two most populous cities, said they comply with the law without providing tampons in traditional boys’ bathrooms.
Based on Ben’s interpretation of the law, I could totally see some right wing group suing to have tampon dispensers installed in boy’s bathroom, claiming the law is being misapplied… just so they can feign outrage if they win….
Asking a serious question ... is his son a child with special needs, ie differently abled? He should be "hands off" is he is.
