What rule did he break? (I am assuming something about posting under multiple names? Or was he previously banned and snuck back in?)
I didn’t see anything in this thread that screamed ban him but I might have missed it.

I got a disagree bacon but no answer? I asked questions… now you disagree with us asking questions? I was sincere and legitimately curious what the violation was.. simply point it out or explain it… but a moderator doing nothing but a disagree bacon seem a little authoritarian… like we can’t ask or dare not ask what the rationale for the ban was.

my apologies. i must have hit the disagree by mistake on my phone earlier. clumsy thumbs.

I wasn't involved in his banning, though I did edit a couple of his insults. By themselves, they weren't nearly ban-worthy. But apparently he's been banned under at least six different names since April. Including, I believe, two yesterday.

There is no answer to that question, Ridge. And I wonder why not?

So I ask again: Why was I banned?

Because this was done publically, I would like a public response.

Good reason? Bad reason? Any reason?

It was implied that I was a formerly banned member who snuck back in. And that claim is 100% FALSE.

And why were those screen names banned? I'm still waiting for an answer.

A mod didn't like me and I was banned for no reason.

I guess I don’t understand the meaning of the word “banned.”

I don't understand how a banned user can subsequently derail a thread. Doesn't this somehow require breaking the space-time continuum ? :p

It's pretty easy to start a new username actually. But I would still like an answer to why I was banned.

River has already stated he didn’t see anything in this thread that warranted a ban.
River said he didn’t ban anyone in this thread
Lacuna ( I am assuming) is the one who banned him(or her?)
But has offered no explanations. She publicly announced his banning but hasn’t said why.
He claims he has never been banned before and isn’t sneaking back I . I have no idea but it seems easy enough for a mod to answer and end this
Either he shouldn’t have been banned by lacuna in which case a simple public apology is in order or he is lying and has been Belanger multiple times in which case he should have at least a few weeks of vacation time.. right.
    So what is it?

Whatever the criteria of supposed objective merit is, it will be bent to favor the privileged and the dominant caste. It is the story of human existence. it has only a tangential relationship to true academic “merit”, whatever that is.

When we were in that stage of life, among other things, there were programs to steer kids into sports that certain small elite liberal arts schools needed to fill teams for. The system will always be gamed by those with access to the unwritten rules and norms of the ruling class. AA is a limited way of trying to even for the current effect of that caste system, if not for the first generation then for the second, whose parents learn the rules of the club.

Let’s not forget the first big AA program for college admissions- the GI Bill after WWII. So many men that were not considered “college material” were forced into the system and did just fine. But their children grew up in a higher class and were more “naturally qualified.”

And, of course, that program systematically excluded Black veterans.
How the GI Bill's Promise Was Denied to a Million Black WWII Veterans | HISTORY

But, of course, the Equal Protection Clause says, "Sorry, Black people, we discriminated against you on the basis of your race for hundreds of years (and still do in a de facto way). But the Constitution that allowed that discrimination now bars the government from doing anything to make up for it."

Truth. And not just the GI Bill but just about every program that created a substantial white middle class. Great read
